  1. Maybe it could be worth entrusting that sort of arduous task to a trusted lieutenant? I'm sure there are quite a few server regulars who would step up
  2. For me it's full fidelity or nothing. Would rather have a FF J-8 than lowfi MKK
  3. It's a mistake caused by the DCS update
  4. Seems like on the current mission the F-5s at least have missiles but there are no red AA missiles at all
  5. Yeah this doesn't make any sense to me. You're going to get shot down time and again by F-16s and hornets no matter what variant your F5 is. Why not have one that's appropriate to an era when it was respectable rather than a serially upgraded relic?
  6. When the Hind drops will it have some CTLD functionality or will it be used in the gunship role?
  7. In the case of the 15E it's not an unrealistic configuration, it just makes it impossible to have a credible gulf war mission which in my view is a shame. Hind with SPO-15 might be a realistic configuration for some modern conflict like Chechenya but precludes the dozens of pre-90s conflicts the Mi-24 participated in. Which is not my preference. So *for me* I'm happiest with SPO-10 for that reason. Others are free to disagree but I don't think it's a realism issue
  8. For me SPO-10 is perfectly fine and it allows for a broader scope of periods where the module is appropriate for The opposite situation from the F-15E with its post-2010 UFC which is a bizarre choice to me but democracy spoke
  9. Good effort, it looks really good
  10. The sad reality is that the FC3 Russian planes have an extremely simply and unrealistically modeled IRST. We will be getting a much higher fidelity IRST simulation with the MiG-23MLA in the future. So we will be able to compare PIRATE to that one at least.
  11. Historical accuracy for a given scenario might be nice but we are so far from ever being able to do it. We have a very limited set of aircraft and ground units in DCS and we have to make do, it's only relatively recently that we have been able to assemble a fun, reasonably balanced cold war multiplayer environment in DCS. '90's viggens and '90's Ka-50s are a necessary evil in this environment, at least we know we will soon be able to replace the latter with Mi-24s in the near-ish future.

    R-73 missile?

It's unrealistic friend. You'll have to wait for a full fidelity 29 or flanker like the rest of us
  13. Speaking of roughfield and road bases, SUNTSAG has made a quite astonishing . (Sadly not RSBN, not sure if that's possible given the RSBN implementation in DCS) Maybe this would help discoverability for those who don't know where the base is
  14. I just spent too much of my life trying to get an EWR deployed with an Mi-8 (my pedals are broken so it was like pulling teeth but nobody else cared to do it) then I found where I wanted to put the EWR and.... how the f*** do you deploy it?
  15. They are increasing the G limit by a little bit sometime soon so this should occur a little bit less often in the future. It is still a consideration though
  16. This is pretty silly. As end users in DCS we all accept that developers know things they can't tell us. This is true of almost every module. Deka have their reasons for modelling the SD-10 like they did. What reason is there to change it other than ED doesn't like it? Scummy Will the same thing happen to True Grit's Meteor? When the Mirage came out they were asked to use ED's version of Magic II and Super 530D and they were TERRIBLE missiles, did not perform to a single parameter until Razbam made their own versions with more accurate data and more care.
  17. I had no idea they had radars on corsairs, that would be a fun toy. The MiG-21 flight model since the last update is great, its never been more fun to fly and I'm super hyped about the F8. Glad to see the update
  18. Paradox

    ee lightning?

I had absolutely no idea Lightnings were fitted for a lazur type system That would be a toy really worth having if possible
  19. If I had to have a *shudder* land based F-4 it would be this one
  20. People often don't realise the corner speed on this thing is actually very high. Much higher than its main adversary the MiG-21. Dogfighting is difficult to learn. I had hoped that the ACM campaigns would be a help for me but alas not really, they're just roundabout, long, very nicely voice acted ways to get you into almost unwinnable fights with broken AI planes.
  21. Put it another way: why does the JSOW C have an IR seeker if not to provide terminal guidance on moving targets? Fair enough it is doesn't pluck speedboats out of the water but I can't prove that it tracks anything at all in DCS
  22. JSOW C should hit moving targets since it has IR terminal guidance. Part of the point of that weapon is to hit small boats
  23. Also a no to F-14. Maybe the A version. In like ONE SINGLE SLOT on ONE mission.
