Just wondering how often ED has sales? I came to DCS just after the February sales and i bought the p51 and huey at full price, but thats SO expensive and i just cant afford any more at that price...

Will these modules transfer to 2.0?

Thanks

From MudSpike interview (January 2015):

http://www.mudspike.com/qa-with-matt-wagner-producer-eagle-dynamics/

Will all modules purchased under the umbrella of DCS World 1.x be usable in DCS World 2.x without additional upgrade fees?

Yes, they will all work perfectly well in DCS World 2 with no upgrade fee.

For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF

I like to think Spring sales are coming… :)

Time for the wallet to do some push-ups and get ready.

(even if some of us can't use the modules due to time constraints, it's a great way to support ED in addition to some full price modules (Albatros!))

Steam sales for DCS are rare and far in between. Not to mention that steam doesn't support ED's own sales (steam doesn't allow transfer of ED keys to steam)

Best way and value for you is just use the stand alone DCS world. STEAM overlay kills DCS anyways, and we all know DCS needs no help in that department.

True. And there is no real point in using the steam version of dcs anyway because the standalone version also has an auto updater and a repair tool...

There is usually something DCS in one of the Steam sales in the year. As far as on here they can pop up for 24/48 hours, or be several weeks. The long sales usually appear on here around the same time as the Steam sale (usually before or after).

Keep an eye out for new ED aircraft, a sale sometimes be seen around the same time. I usually check the forum news section (as someone pointed to above) once a day just in case.

I tend to use sales to pickup aircraft I might not even fly, or if I do it's only briefly. I just see it as a way of supporting DCS and keeping my collection growing without spending far too much.

steam overlay can be disabled very easily

indeed is a good box to store all of my games so why not sale as frequent as ED store?

steam money are less colored than the others?

Well, Steam takes a cut on what's purchased on their store so ED prefers you to buy stuff on their own store. I guess they're on steam for visibility reasons and try to motivate people to use dcs out of steam in the long run.

From what I know, Steam/Valve's cut on the store games is around 30-40%. Depending on the game popularity it can be a better deal with a wider player/customer base so it really depends on the sales volume to balance that percentage.

In any way, if you want to support ED and unless you have a great influence on the Steam platform (curator, reviewer, lot of sim-Steam-friends, etc.), purchasing on their store is probably the best idea.

Also, my experience with ED's support has been absolutely satisfying. :)
