Is this project still evolving with momentum?

Will this be more of the same-'o same-o' where the DCS game will be played on private servers of few player counts, or will this be played on a more populated player count on a 24/7 always on DCS or similar company server?

I have the DCS P-51, Fw-190, and Bf-109 currently. Definitely will get the Spit.

Make a Russian La-7, I will buy it in a heartbeat!

I too will get all WWII modules .. just to show my support. To date my DCS collection is only missing the Hawk and the Mi-8 .. yet I fly them all very rarely .. if at all.

For modern aircraft (jets etc), apart from initial flights to get a taste for flying characteristics .. I know zilch about how their systems work, because my interest fades. It keeps on being a project for another day.

The WWII birds on the other hand get a workout every day ... :) ... and I'm waiting impatiently for the P47 and the Spit.

I really hope that the project keeps on track.

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

Dedicated server function is coming with DCS 2.0.

Now, don't freak out at me, but I doubt that we will ever have the multiplayer scene we wish for. The DCS modules require a lot of time investment just to takeoff, fly around, and land.

You may be right. But out of my 6 friends I spoke with, 4 wait for a proper map and 2 for edge.

I think the price is the biggest issue. Especially if Normandy will cost money. I think it should be added to the ww2 airplanes.

When someone decides to get into tennis or any other sport, they generally pay what's required to get the level of involvement to make them feel the sport is worthwhile. It's true with any leisure activity and people generally don't quibble about it ... or else they find something else to do.

Why should fligh-simming be any different? No other sim on the planet can rival DCS for physics/systems fidelity. Sure there are some that have found compromises ... e.g. A2A, PMDG, some of the stuff in X-Plane ... but none of them have hit the sweet spot when it comes to those two things.

Sure DCS has it's limitations ... but I'm working on having ED change their mind and integrate the whole world ... make it a really big sandbox .. but I'll probably just be a dead visionary by then.

Anyhoot ... it all cost 'cause nothing is produced if the workers don't get to eat.

So short version ... don't expect things for free ... haggling is only valid when the participants are all equally familiar with the cost of production.

My 2 cents.

I just witnessed an ED sale not too long ago, what a week or so? Prices were like 70% off... I think when it comes down to it, price is the last thing you need to worry about around here, if its too much for you to afford today, chances are ED will have a sale on it...

Yeah complaining about the price of ED modules should of died along time ago with the amount of sales around here. You can buy a DCS module for cheaper than any of the crap WT packages at that time. The only holdup to get into the WWII/Korea era planes is perhaps equipment (hotas/rudder pedals) or operator effort.

I could see missions where players arrive at a set time - scheduled.

They are assigned slots in a game where they are already flying.

Formations on both sides - bombers included... Help get new guys into the fight quickly.
