thdman1511 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 i have been researching to find out what munitions can be used against certain targets. I am having difficulties finding what Su_25T munitions would be effective against the Command Centre. I have drop free fall bombs on it, Laser guided missiles, and unguided missiles on it. I have even look though the encyclopedia to find out what sort of targets each type of munitions work against certain targets. I have look through guides produced by other members, and I find myself still wanting. Is there any other place I could look to find this information out. I even tried to create a mission where AI would go on a mission to destroy the Command Centre, but little of not success. But in the meantime I will keep researching. Any assistance on this would be much appreciated. DCS World Online, SU25, SU25T, A-10 A, Black Shark 2, F15C, SU27, Combined Arms, A10C. Exorcet Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I believe the Russian penetration bombs are the BetAB series. I think one of the manuals mentions a rocket type designed specifically for hardened targets, but I don't recall which. I'm not very familiar with Russian AG. Belgeode Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 There is a mission in single player folder for the Su-25T that says "Command Post Strike". In that mission the default loadout they give you to attack the command post is the KAB-500kr. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] YouTube ~ Twitch

escaner Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I remember that mission, you needed both bombs on target to destroy it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Avimimus Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 You might try the Kh-29 as well (320kg warhead is almost as large as the 380kg warhead on the KAB-500)
pepin1234 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) Just a few updates before one single Kh-29 and Kab-500 had the power to destroy the command post and also the hardened shed. (in RL should be like that) Suddenly now this capability is not anymore for some reason we don't know. more than 300 kg TNT is enough to heavy damage the hardened sheds. Before, We use to destroy the hardened Sheds and disable every was inside this. So in that case the aircraft was inside, keep unable to flight. Was a very good target for the MP missions. Now ED downgrade this capability. This is really annoyed... Edited April 7, 2015 by pepin1234 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
escaner Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 It was already like that in July 2014, when I first did the mission. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
159th_Falcon Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I believe the Russian penetration bombs are the BetAB series. I think one of the manuals mentions a rocket type designed specifically for hardened targets, but I don't recall which. I'm not very familiar with Russian AG. Hardened targets are the lunch of choice for the BetAB 500 SHP concrete piercing bomb. It features a high explosive warhead that is driven into the target by a rocket motor which ignites after the bomb is brought in a near vertical orientation by means of an retarding parachute. Though, due to the current damage modelling of the game i have no idea if it will work as advertised. It does make some huge craters in runways though.
