Kindred Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Will the UAV be controllable if added in BS? Getting some functionality out of it, would be awesome... http://www.lockon.ru/img/products/large/7a5bc99f2059efcf8fcb7b2e766477f0.jpg
Witchking Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 meh....I wouldn't be betting on it. :(... I thought it would come out with FC patch 1.12. Due to time constraits ED scrapped speedtree already, maybe something more complicated like UAV may also be scrapped WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|
EvilBivol-1 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Flyable? No, ED couldn't get enough data on the cockpit setup... :D - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
Shotsx74 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 why would you need info on the cockpit just make it useing the remote for it... its a drone ppl shjouldnt really be flying in it anyway thats why they use the remote for it... even though it needs to be in a radias of where the person is at...? Correct me if i am wrong in saying any of this... a little side note, mission impossible III has the drone in it as well and they use it will a remote as well as fire ordinance from it too.
JaNk0 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Erm...it was a joke :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Not sure if that was such a drone. The aircraft in the movie flew at jet speeds ....
Force_Feedback Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 As far as I could see, it was a Global Hawk with 2 Hellfires. MI:III is as fun as Battlefield 2, and UT, and Quake :( , AND my friends convinced me to see it :/ That is like the third Cruise movie without any kind of story in it, hence the 3. Correct me if i am wrong in saying any of this... Most drones DO have a cockpit-type setup (in the ground control station). It's usually a pilot-operator and a sensor-operator - either on the ground back at the operating base, a forward C3I location or sometimes in an aircraft operating near the area of interest. ED would need a LOT of detail to create the ground station & systems part of the Predator UAV. After all what would be the point of "flying" the UAV if you couldnt somehow get the sensor data into the game? I suspect the Predator would be similiar to existing AI helicopters - available for adding "atmosphere" or as as extra "targets" for the pilot-players.
HungaroJET Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Flyable? No, ED couldn't get enough data on the cockpit setup... :D :D BTW : why there are the FC logo on the pic ?...I believe the UAV Predator will come only with BS :( Atop the midnight tarmac, a metal beast awaits. Shotsx74 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 well not to start a war or anything but when there in the chooper and he seees ethan behind the car, he says "Bring the drone around again" and it was the UAV but it had like jet engines on it, it looked just like it though.
Weta43 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I could see some point to having the UAV in the game even if uncontrolable beyond giving it a course in the editor if you could give it a course & leave it to loiter then have any ground vehicles within its line of sight / range of view show on F10, if F10 functioned like this: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=15973 Cheers.
