Mission Editor Is there a way to start on a chosen heading?

When I select my aircraft on a very simple mission for landing, its started at a Waypoint.

I can adjust speed and height but is there a way to start with the aircraft pointed in a particular heading in the air?

Relative newbie and not the sharpest tool in the box :helpsmilie:

Not in the same way, as for ground unit, but you can make a WP (very close to your start point) in any direction you want to start.

Playing: DCS World

Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof.

Make two way points.

The first is your start point and the second in the direction you want to go.

Wow! I was trying to get four formations to head in the same direction using the WWII Bombing formation. However, three wanted to go south and double back to get back into box formation. I added a single waypoint pointing to the same direction as lead (dont think that mattered) for each left, right, and back formations and fixed! Adding the waypoint was just the thing to snap them in to place. Thanks so much, Svend_Dellepude!

Can you not choose the direction when you place the aircraft on the map using the heading compass?

Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.

Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.

Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

No, when placing aircraft there is no heading compass, unlike for ground vehicles:

Place down a waypoint and the aircraft will start in the air facing the direction of the first waypoint.

Yes, this was described in the thread. My only intention was to answer FragBum's question.
