looks like a clipping problem. Objects too close to eye are not rendered. If you lean forward is more from cockpit disappearing?

Do you have any mods? Specifically visual/view distance mods?

I'd suggest to turn them off for debugging. Proper neck is a very old mod. I always suggest people to try to understand what that mod tried to do then put their own settings in place in the new files.

Cobra is right. And you don't need to panic and reinstall all... you will not understand what happened and you will likely repeat the mistakes later :) .

Keep in mind that DCS World repair tool only ADDS files that where modified it IS NOT DELETING files that don't come with the game. But you can have files that don't come with the game and still modifies the game.

You could have a cockpit mod that doesn't use the texture archive but a folder with texture archive's name. It's another way of doing it... so no matter how many repairs you make the mod would be super imposed on the original repaired files and the problem will persist.

So go to your DCS World folder in Mods... aircraft... Mig-21BIS... Textures... and make sure you don't have a "MiG-21_Cockpit" folder in it. If you have... delete it.

Then do a repair or give it a test before you repair.

If all fails remove (move to another place if yo wish) the entire module folder from "aircraft" folder. That is take the Mig-21BIS folder from DCS World\Mods\aircraft\ and put it in recycle bin or somewhere else then do a repair. You can also remove the module (uninstall) from withing games Module Manager then check if the module folders are deleted (DCS World\Mods\aircraft\ Mig-21BIS and DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS ) then do a reinstall of the module via module manager.

Always when you are using mods (I have a ton of them) and have problems that no-one have think about the mods ;) . And always use JSGME for mods and always disable all the mods before updating and repairing. And also use the snapshot creating option from JSGME.

Thanks guys for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate the help :)

I've tried removing the cockpit zip file, but with no luck.

I'm sure it has something to do with the head postion/views. If you tkae alook at the pic i posted where i glance down the pit, you'll notice the kneeboard being way too close to the back of the seat. In addition the default snap views are wildly all over the place, for example, when i press numpad 0, my view snaps backwards over my right shoulder.

As I said before, I experienced something similar with the huey some time ago:

Did You remove "Saved Games" folder for a minute as well? I don't know if visibility and cockpit mods alter any files over there, but If they do, that might be worth checking out.

Kimi_uy, is not the zip you should try to remove. If you did a repair it should be original now. You should try to remove any other folder beside that zip file. That means any folder (named similar with the zip file and that exists in the folder Textures were that zip file is.

Let me show you a picture so you will understand. I have a similar folder that you need to delete. In my case that folder has just one file that Cobra mentioned in another thread that might have been corrupted. So... I placed that file in that folder so it will overwrite the files (modded) from the archive that is no more original.

Do you understand the trick?

In your case... if you have such folder... you might have corrupted files inside that overwrite the repaired archive and messes your cockpit...maybe more.

Look. Answer these questions.

When inside the cockpit... do you have the gunsight leather empty or has a paper with some conversion tables on it?

If it is empty then you have a modded texture in your cockpit... no matter how you repaired you still have it. Most probably is something that I say above.

Also.

Do you have mods that go in Saved Games folder from your user folder in C:\ ?

How do you install mods? Do you use JSGME? Do you use good the commands for install uninstall? Did you made a snapshot?

If it is a view mod you ar eusing they usually stay in (for Mig21Bis):

\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21BIS\Entry\03_Views.lua

or as a section in

\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\server.lua

\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua

and in worst case it can be in

\DCS World\Config\View\server.lua

and

\DCS World\Config\View\SnapViewsDefault.lua

1- I have a range table, but i do see english words on the pit :joystick:: yHy6HkV.jpg

2- Only thing that i have/had in the saved games folder is peterP's neck mod. Enabling it or removing it only changes the eye position for me.

3- i use JSGME, i just create the mod folders and add/remove to suit my needs. I made a snapshot the first time i installed it, though i dunno what it is for.

4- No mod in the mig21/entry folder, ive deleted the whole module several times so it's the original one.

I've removed every file from \DCS World\Config\View\ with no luck either

And from User files?

yes, that's where i installed PeterP's neck mod, i added/removed the snapviees.lua and the server.lua, several times with no avail.

The boom that sticks out of the nose of the a/c becomes visible when i zoom out in 3er person view. Do I need to have textures to max for this thing to work? Any graphical setting i need to be aware of?

Hm... it could be, you know. I remember at some point there were some problems in some module related with this. Try setting on max! High.

I found something weird. In the options of the mig21bis tab there's "Use Custom Cockpit Livery", if this setting is off, some parts of the pit appear in english but if i check the box, it will appear in full russian.

I tried max graphics but nothing changed.

Are there any bugs reported on "old" graphics cards?

I'm just thinking of possible reasons as to why it aint working.

I can still fly the a/c, but there's that feeling of "something is not right here" that bothers me.

The "Use Custom Cockpit Livery" is something that came out of a mod I think and it is or was a bit bugged. All you need to do to eliminate whatever bad effect had was to activated launch a mission then deactivate it and it would disappear.

What PC do you have? Maybe is just a problem of incompatibility after all..
