GeneralDynamics Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I've attached the other LUA script file that's in the Saved Games->DCS World->Scripts folder and I believe it is the one used by Helios. I see both it and the SimShaker script file both reference the loopback address?Export.lua System Specs: Win 10 x64 Pro, ASUS Maximus X Formula, i9-9900K @ 4.7 GHz, 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200 MHz, NZXT Kraken X73 AIO Cooler, Titan X Pascal GPU, EVGA Supernova 1000W P2 PSU, C: 1TB Samsung 960 Pro m.2 PCIe SSD, D: 1TB Samsung 850 Pro SATA SSD, HT Omega Claro PCIe 7.1 Sound, Denon AVR-1709 7.1 Receiver, 46" Sharp Aquos Quattron Main Screen, 27" Acer T272HL TouchScreen + Helios, TrackIR 5, ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog, Crosswinds pedals, SimShaker
GeneralDynamics Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Maybe I'm wrong on that, are both the Exports and SimShaker scripts used by Simshaker? I'm pretty sure Helios uses a lua script file and I can't remember where it is. =Andre= Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 I started SimShaker (again without sound module), started sim and A-10C mission. Gauges problem persisted. While the sim was running and in flight, I did ALT-TAB, and exited SimShaker. Gauges on the touch screen smoothed out again immediately. It seems we have a perfomance issue here... A rig described in your signature seems to be pretty cool. Sorry if it seems to be a stupid question... Do you have some headroom space for CPU and RAM when DCS is up and running? Sorry if it seems to be a stupid question... Do you have some headroom space for CPU and RAM when DCS is up and running? Ah, so both Helios and SimShaker are doing UDP over the luasocket and loopback address? Let me have a go and see if I can sort out what my CPU and memory numbers are like while the sim is running. On second thought, maybe tomorrow - 1:50 am here and I've got work in the morning... But this is way more fun! Thanks for your help Andrey. I'll test some more for you tomorrow. Now, I better be getting some sleep:) Hi GeneralDynamics, well, we can see here that you've got a lot of resources free and both SimShaker and Helios take a little of them. That's fine. We had found with Kuky that "Disable Aero Interface" option in DCS World Settings can influence on smooth rendering while SimShaker is up and running. I wonder, do you have it checked? That's fine. We had found with Kuky that "Disable Aero Interface" option in DCS World Settings can influence on smooth rendering while SimShaker is up and running. I wonder, do you have it checked? That worked, sort of. After disabling Aero, gauges were much smoother, BUT I started getting game crashes and my frame rate went from 70-90 fps to 30-40 fps. Several times, DCS "stopped working" and I had to shut it down and restart. For some reason, disabling the Aero interface wreaks havoc on my system. I don't think that's an option for me. Turned Aero back on and my frame rate came back up smooth, but the gauges were hosed again. Since SimShaker uses a network protocol for communcation with sim, as a temporary workaround we could try to install SimShaker at another computer in your home network and see how it is. Is it possible? Gametrix JetSeats thread (in English) , SimShaker addon for bass-shakers thread (in English), Andre's blog, downloads, manuals (in English). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Is it possible? Sure, I've got a wireless router and a couple laptops laying around not doing anything. So would I change the loopback address in the SimShaker lua script to the local address of the laptop after installing SimShaker? Edit: And I'll have to run the butkicker amp from the laptop headphone jack, I assume? GeneralDynamics Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 To see if SimShaker gets any data from the sim you can use View->Show Debug Info window. YAY! Gauges are as smooth as silk and laptop is getting data. DCS is sending data to both laptop and Helios. Testing the Buttkicker from SimShaker on the laptop is successful, but I'm not getting any shake from the sim while in demo mode. Is this to be expected? Do I need to get a new authorization code for the laptop install before I get any shake from the sim? GeneralDynamics Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) Worked like magic, Andrey! Everything is smooth, sim, frame rates, Helios, everything. And the nice thing is that I can leave the laptop volume set the same all the time independent of the volume setting on the sim PC, so I won't need to constantly readjust the ButtKicker amp! Thanks for your help! Edit: Forgot to mention that all the SimShaker effects work perfectly across the wireless connection to the laptop as well. Cowboy10uk Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hi there, Sorry to bother you Andre. Just wondering if anyone else has a constant wining noise when using this latest version, mainly with A10. I know the motors make noise but my seat has never made this before, its like the motors are stuck, and they make a humming type sound that goes up and down in pitch at a constant pace, I can feel all the motors vibrating if I put my hand on them, but its not noticeable when I'm sat on them. all the normal rattles and bumps work fine, its just this constant noise, never heard it before. Sorry I know its hard to explain. Just wondering if others have the same, or if theres a problem with my install or seat?
