Try this:

The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...

This things is not producing any more unfortunately.

I have one for more than 5 years now and was serving me well. Good thing about this product is Good quality plastic and easy maintains and easy replacing components. So if you are willing to play with it it could be your whole life HOTAS.

Recently I start to feel this problems with throttle and it was easy fix with removing just one screw to make wire which goes to throttle handle more loose. And that's it, whole wisdom about and it is easier to fix it than to break it like in video.

I still love my G940.

I guess this means I should NOT buy this thing?

This model are discontinued (Logitech "baill out" of "high end" joystick market), but if you find one for cheap and have some DIY skill, a ~10$ Arduino board fix these issues easy... :music_whistling:

Of course, make "nice" vídeos for YT is more fun. :megalol:

I to have the G940.

Where to start...... first off when I trim a helicopter it "kicks" usually to the left. It never stays trimmed where I actually set it. And before you tell me that is how it works I have to say my MSFFB2 never did that. That is my only complaint for the stick.

Now for the throttle. First off, none of the rotaries work. They spike like crazy if you so much as move the throttle. You don't even have to touch the rotaries themselves. Second both the 8 ways "back" (toward me) and down work about half the time. The 2 buttons on the side work half of the time.

I have had no issues with the rudder pedals but they do not seem very precise.

At this point I have bought an X-55 Rhino on e-bay described as used and working perfectly. My most likely set up will be to use the Rhino throttle and junk the G940 one and use the G940 stick.... unless the kicking starts to really bother me, then it will be "Rhino" throttle, MSFFB2 stick..... and I guess I will have to buy new rudder pedals since Logitech made the decision to use the stick as a hub for the G940 set.

Overall I would say the G940 was a HUGE disappointment in every way possible that has caused no end of frustration while playing DCS.

Buyer beware.

I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original.

I am quite happy with mine.

I did replace the cable in the throttle though.

Is there cable to buy with connectors or you have to change it one wire by one?

@ZQuickSilverZ

The spiking goes away if you replace the cable. That's not too hard to do. Otherwise the throttle is ok IMO. For some reason Logitech used a cable that is too short so it gets bent by the throttle, which causes the spiking. My cable is a bit longer and flat so I could place it in there more easily. Spiking is gone. :)

@wormeaten

I had to build the cable myself. I took an old floppy cable (the grey flat one) and just split away the number of wires I needed, and then I soldered them to the connectors from the old cable. I suck at soldering so I needed two hours or so. If you are talented you might do all the work in half an hour.

You have to admit that the throttle is pretty solid, it tooks a lot of pain in that movie :D.

On the other hand, stock G940 simply sucks. But with a bit of tuning is one of the best on market from my point of view.

If you are anything like me the stock G940 will drive you insane.

On the other hand if you fix the hysterisis bug it is pretty nice.

I have extended the stick in mine, fixed the hysterisis bug and now I'm going to add a mini joystick to the throttle (seriously, what kind of an idiot thought that a slew control should be on the stick instead of on the throttle????).

At least I had fun doing all those things even though it was a pain...

That will not fix the 8 ways not working or the 2 buttons.

I thought of another complaint... the slop in the middle of the stick.

Do this with the throttle.
