Stratos Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I think this mod will fit perfectly to everyone flying choppers, specially for the Huey and Hip fans doing insertions, extractions and Medevacs in and out of tight landing zones. Creating a 3d model of a tree (or reusing the ED ones with a proper collision model) will let us make those missions a lot more challenging in a relatively easy way. This is my idea, the mission creator should place a "wall" of colidable trees ringing the landing zone, so anyone hitting those trees will get damage as a real chopper will do. The rest can be left the current way cause they're not important. What you guys think? I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

ED probably doesn't probably have the source file of the current map for them to modify. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Another alternative would be to create few (4 or 5) polygons and play with "alpha" channels texture. I'm @ work all week-end, can't do Max stuff right now. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
pered Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Yea, but you only need to change the tree model. It's already 3D so might be easier than expected. We'll see how easy 1.5/2 is to make mods. No need for ALL the features of EDGE to be included. Gotta catch them all bandits! :joystick:
pered Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Looked at the tree files, and hell they're near to impossible to reconstruct. They were made in combination with the ground polys, so that's a no, no collidable trees. Sorry heli guys. Gotta catch them all bandits! :joystick:
