J3ST3R Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I know very little about the mirage, has it been announced yet on what a/g weapons this module will use and if targeting pods will be available? Azrayen Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Hi, IRL, Mirage 2000 is a quite large family of aircraft. You can read about it here. Razbam is making a 2000C with the RDI radar (S5 update) (take care not to confuse this with the 2000-5 variant, far more modern). In practice, the variant we'll get was first and foremost an air-to-air fighter with Cannon, Fox1, Fox2 capability. Regarding its secondary air-to-ground role, the aircraft is limited to: - cannon (2x 30mm) - dumb bombs - GBU-12s (with a mandatory external designation) - rockets The variant is not able to load any designation pod.
Fer_Fer Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 IIRC the devs stated that they would add the ARMAT antiradiation missile along with the Excocet as well. However, those were not stated in the pre purchase content list, so those are still unsure.
Azrayen Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) Last I heard (yesterday) there was a mention of a discussion internal to Razbam about those. AFAIK, neither ARMAT nor Exocet were ever "operational status" on French Mirage 2000C RDI (which is the modelised variant). ARMAT and Exocet have OTOH been tested (or were operational) on Mirage 2000 equipped with the RDM (older radar, globally less efficient but with more modes than the more modern RDI). Mirage 2000 equipped with the RDM were for example: - the early 2000C for the french air force (airframes #1 to #37) (later retrofitted to RDI standard) - the Egyptian 2000EM/BM (that is said to have the Armat capacity). Also the Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 and 2000-9 (recent / advanced variants of the Mirage, truly multirole), equipped with upgraded RDY / RDY-2 radar, can employ the Exocet too. jojo Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Slight correction: - French Mirage 2000-5F were upgraded from 2000 C RDI with good remaining airframe life. - the RDI radar were fitted to early Mirage 2000 C RDM. Some of them sold to Brazil. Mirage fanatic ! I7-7700K/ MSI RTX3080/ RAM 64 Go/ SSD / TM Hornet stick-Virpil WarBRD + Virpil CM3 Throttle + MFG Crosswind + Reverb G2. gunterlund21 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Will the A-10C be able to lase for the Mirage in game or will we be relying on ground FAC? I was in Art of the Kill D#@ it!!!!

shaDe55 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Thinking about pulling the trigger on this one, just a quick question. How will this aircraft stack up against the SU-27, SU-33, MiG-29? Well we already know it's out classes by the f15c but just curious
Azrayen Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 It's roughly the same league as the MiG-29A. Tinier than the Flanker. Less radar surface, less payload (2x fox1, 2x fox2) but also less RCS.

Well we already know it's out classes by the f15c but just curious Out classes by the F15C... I'm not so sure... outclassed by an F15C with AIM-120, maybe, since 2000C does not have fox3 missiles... but an F15C with only AIM-9/7, the deal is not so easy i think...
shaDe55 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Well I guess what I'm asking is will I be able to effectively engage the above, or will the Russian fighters have a huge advantage over me in a m2000c.

No I don't think so. The Mirage should give you better SA thanks to its more intuitive radar and RWR. Mirage is good in transonic area and high altitude. In dogfight MiG 29 and Su 27 may have better thrust to weight, but the Mirage is lighter, have much better roll rate and care free handling. MiG 29 is the direct opponent (not MiG 21). However a Flanker with full fuel may have a bad time in dogfight... Against Fox 3 you will have a bad time in Mirage, and you will depend on team tactics to succeed. The fight will be tight, we'll see when it's released. Edited September 19, 2015 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! didilman Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Yes M2000 opponent in russia is mig-29 and F-16 in usa. It can fight the gripen without issue according some I dont know if this is right.

J3ST3R Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 So according to what I've read and thanks for everyone's reply Btw, the 2000c can carry 2x Gbu12 on the centerline pylon. (With no TGP, external only). I've also seen images of 2x hydra rocket pods on one pylon (TER).... Is that all correct for this variant we are getting? VincentLaw Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 hydra rocket podsThis Mirage uses Matra rockets, not Hydra rockets. I don't know if RAZBAM plans to allow multiple stores per station or not, but I have seen photos of dual ejector racks on all of the wet hardpoints. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

jojo Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Ok, here is the story of French ARM missile. In 1963 UK and France started a cooperation for a common missile. The program was named Martel. Production started in 1969, with 2 versions: France purchased only AS 37 Martel ARM version - 100 for French Air Force Mirage III and Jaguar A. - 50 for French Navy Atlantic UK purchased: - 200 TV guided missiles (Buccaneer) - 150 ARM Nimrod also used it but I don't know which version or both. AS 37 Martel had 3 different seekers depending on targeted radar. UK did not want to export it. So France developed the ARMAT : export version of ARM missile, also with 3 different seekers. It said it was exported with both Mirage F1 (Irak for sure, under the name Bazaar) and Mirage 2000 (client unspecified, lets admit it's Egypt). Only 150 ARMAT produced. In France MARTEL was retired in late 1990' Bottom line: No French Mirage 2000 (B/ C/ D/ N/ -5) was ever qualified to use ARM missile. Only export Mirage 2000 E? RDM could pretend to use ARM missile. http://www.eurosae.com/pages/comaero/R_Carpentier_Missiles_tactiques.pdf Edited September 21, 2015 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! Ramstein Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 bottom line French Mirage 200o C (or other exports) had no anti radiation for radar guided (harm equivalents). if there is no anti radiation, then no for me, if yes, then yes... wait for an allied aircraft with HARMS...
