Any slot (or all) in a Flight can now be set to 'client'... Mission designers still need to handle communications with voice over etc., but you can simply 'follow the leader'... And the ATC announces correct call signs, also.

It doesn't work for single player though, "Player" can still only be selected as flight lead.

Nothing prevents you from using a single 'client' slot in SP Missions.

As you are the host of the mission in SP anyway even the triggers for weight and failures etc. should work! Only in MP for clients it does still not work, AFAIK.

I was wondering about this, to me, it wasn't made clear in the update post. I'm going to test this, does the AI give commands? (RTB, attack target, etc)
No they don't. I think this functionality is much more geared for multi-player to allow multiple human players in the same flight. I've flown with an AI lead several times now and although it's fun to fly in close formation, you don't hear any commands from the lead and you can't give commands to your wingman if you aren't in the #1 spot. It would be a nice addition in the future.
