I am not tracking framerates so I dont know if that is the issue, but in 1.5 I am getting some kind of a performance hit. I can tell immediately from the cockpit on the runway when panning 360 views from the joystick, the movement is glitchy, not smooth at all. When viewing the ground in flight from the cockpit the movement is not smooth...stutters. When viewing the aircraft in 'fly by' view it is also not smooth...small stutters.

Please post your system specs.

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

I to am experiencing stutters especially when activating lightening pod in A10C. GTX 780 Core I7 @ 3.65 16 gigs DDR3. I was also playing a KA 50 Campaign and when getting into an area with targets extreme stutters.

System specs:

XFX 780i, Q9650 3ghz OC'd to 4.2, 8gb RAM, Geforce GTX 760 1gb

I get very good performance with most all aircraft

I am running low to med DCS settings

I can confirm MiG is still very resource hungry in 1.5.

My "new" benchmark place for testing performance is taxiway at Senaki-Kolkhi, near runway treshold 27. When taxiing past shelter 60 in western direction, with all shelters visible in front and buildings + forest-covered hills on the right, my framerate in MiG cockpit drops from solid 60 to 40-50 depending on direction. It's the only module which still causes sub-60 drops post 1.5 update. Not too many, bu still.

My hardware is not very powerful, but it's not slouch either - i5 4670K OC'ed to 4.2 GHz, single GTX780, 8 gigs of RAM.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Your GTX760 1GB VRAM unfortunately doesn't meet minimum requirements for DCS World 1.5/2.0.

The minimum requirements were listed as DirectX11 capable card with at least 2 GB of VRAM.

I have a 980 Ti and have the same problems than the OP.. something is wrong with the Mig because I get fps drops and when checking gpu usage it is at 60 %, the same with the processor not running at 100 %.. and is the only aircraft with such problems..

Nevertheless his graphics card doesn't meet the minimum requirements. I haven't noticed any performance degradation compared to the 1.2.X in the Mig. S-Gerat, what are your other system specs and what graphics settings are you using?

It's not my computer, because is not running at maximum..

I can confirm that, too. MiG-21 is still very resource hungry in 1.5.

Compared to other Modules it is no joy to fly with all these litle stutters.

I have take a couple of pics in order to show my problem. The problem as you can see is that the framerate is weird (30,4 fps) and neither the cpu (afaik dcs only uses cores 3 and 4 ) or the gpu are used at 100 %.

I also can confirm that MiG-21 is running worse that any other module I tested. In Sabre, MiG-15, Mustang and Mi-8 I get double FPS compared to the MiG-21 in the same mission.

My computer specs are:

Intel Xeon X5460@3.16Ghz, motherboard DP43TF, 8GB DDR2 RAM, GTX 660TI 2GB

I got to questioning myself on on my card memory, so I found the box my GTX 760 came in and I was wrong, it is actually 2GB. So I am fine there. I wonder why some of us are having issues and others are not? I have most of the other aircraft and the Mig 21 is virtually unusable for me right now.

The problem can also be from the DCS engine that isn't capable to use all the available resources of the cpu.. and it simply happen with the Mig because is the more demanding aircraft.. I find that disabling shadows the fps rise a lot in that exact place ( Sochi runway facing sea ), maybe the shadows are cpu rendered ? Why in that case dcs not uses at 100 % one of the cpu cores ?

Hope that somebody of the LN team comes here and try to explain that behavior..

Tested some more yesterday, and yes the Mig does run a little bit slower when compared to some of the other modules. However didn't it ALWAYS run slower than the other modules? Since it is basically one of the most complicated modules in terms of 3d modeling, advanced systems modeling and flight modeling?

It drops to 40 FPS for me on some instances and sometimes there are little hickups on busy airports, but I honestly can't say whether it's performing worse than in 1.2.X. In fact it seems to be peforming better. Most of the time it is locked at 60 FPS just like the other modules.

The problem isn't that it performs worse than other modules, is that for some strange reason I'm getting low fps while my computer is touching his eggs  I have tested the Mig-21 the past week and I was getting 110 fps while flying when I was getting 120 fps in other modules..

After I limit the fps to 60 in the config.lua, and usually I have that 60 fps flying with the Mig, but for some strange reason, sometimes the fps fall while my cpu and gpu aren't working at 100 %

Trying to reproduce.

Locally I get identical FPS to the TF-51 over the ocean in both Cockpit and External views.

Will try to investigate.

Hi Cobra,

Glad to see you here. In my case, I was getting very good fps with the Mig with 1.5, in fact, I'll fly it at more than 100 fps at 4k with everything at max. But in some cases like the one in the pics I get low fps and as you can see the cpu and the gpu aren't working at full capacity.

I can send you the mission file to test by yourself and compare with another aircraft.

Thanks for the reply. Really difficult to reproduce with nothing really taxing the CPU and GPU over the ocean. Cobra if you can, try and compare the frame rates by doing ramp starts on the same highly populated airfield.

Results are the same.

We will investigate further.

Hello all

I also can confirm these micro stutters in mig-21(great module).
