Not really an urgent issue but i have noticed the default loadouts always place the AIM9's on the inside of the wing pylons. Suggesting a change for all default loadouts placing IR missiles on the outside like noticed in real world vids or photos. Also probably makes sense to have your 9X's on the outside for off boresight shots.

oh also please enable the 9x and a JHMCS!?

They aren't always carried on the outside of the wing pylons, so what we have in DCS isn't necessarily wrong. Here's an example:

Yeah you're correct now I'm more confused! Lots of photos of both loadouts.

I wonder what the advantage/disadvantage of each is? Maybe different squadrons run them differently....? Still i would have thought having the 9X on the outside would always be the preference.

Interesting concept. Looking at the different examples of IRL load outs it doesn't look like there is a standard preference. Seems like something someone would have spent time on studying the advantages/disadvantages.

It also may be preference of the ordnance guys arming the aircraft. Maybe it's a pain to mount 9's or 120's in a specific position on those pylons and that's why we see the 9's inboard.

It's more common to load the 120's inboard (sta's 2b/8a), but as the picture suggest it's not always the case. This pic also shows AIM-7's so the picture is pretty old. We don't carry AIM-7's anymore.

I would imagine inner pilons are prefered where possible as it won't affect stability after launch. Of course, with a full load, heavier stuff that is likely to be used first on the inside.

;2509932']Remember you can always go into the Editor and create your own 'Standard Loadouts' that you can then select from the drop down menu in Multiplayer.

That way you can always have them on the outside ;)

Is that in the mission editor on SP mode, then save, and they will be available in MP? Can you clarify for a new guy? I've tinkered around and assumed the MP load-outs were standard and everyone had to go through the pain of right-clicking and setting up before every flight.

Thanks

Yes. Any loadouts you create in SP will show up in MP.

Not the case w/the F-15. Strike 120's are loaded outboard because it's an extremely tight fit due to the CFT's and the weapons troops can't really get to the rail w/the jammer. No CFT's on albino's. 9's have a better chance of a lock if loaded outboard.
