Update:

- teleport + moose issue: solved... but:

- introduced new issue: don't create static dead units anymore... then.. solved.

- introduced new issue: create static dead units for any teleported unit....

 

... so I have to rewrite a bit the "is dead" logic that leads to create statics.

Need some more time, but we are close to a solution that will allow me to release AT LEAST the save mission part compatible with 1.5.6.

 

For the AI enchancement part, I'm still facing the crash issue Pikey saw.

No, cause mostly it's not a moose issue. I want to be sure that it's not something in daws. Then we might try to understand what is going on together to allow compatibility

Well thats good progress because at least you have the right area of code and its making a diffference. Grab FC on his offer, he's very good with LUA.

I'm trying to get DAWS working, but it seems the save mission function doesn't want to work at all. The AI enhancement features are ok, so the module is loading.

 

The only error I can see in dcs.log is the one below, any ideas?

 

00168.464 ERROR VFS: VFS_open_write: CreateFile(E:\Users\James\Saved Games\DCS\Missions/Temp/DAWS_TempMix/Scripts/DAWS_mountedInfantryTable_SM): The system cannot find the path specified.

Update.

After some painful time we get Save Mission module of DAWS Package to work properly, alone and with MOOSE active.

 

We still have some issue with AI enhancement module. So i decided to release a temporary version ith only Save Mission module available. AI enhancement module will be incorporated as soon as it's fixed.

Dev update:

 

I'm still struggling to understand what is going on with the "AI enhancement" code that cause DCS crash when coupled with MOOSE. So I'm going to restore AI enhancement mods one by one with this priority:

- Infantry carrier will be temporary removed due to Save Mission related issue;

- Suppression will be there;

- Vehicle damage enhancement will be there;

- Automatic artillery will be added in beta;

- Simplified IADS logic will be added in beta (running only if Grimes' IADS script isn't active);

 

There's one thing that I REALLY want to add: an extremely simplified embark/disembark function for helicopters only, that should work with any ground infantry group with the proper amount of people and with any helicopter that could carry them.

 

If someone would like to help it's appreciated. I tried to dig a bit in CTLD with Ciribob permission but it's too much complicated to reverse-engineer what I night need. Obviously if someone has CTLD running, those functions will be disabled even if selected.

For helicopters... I made a script, but i am susimg CTLD... With that you can use IA helos for embark disembark at will.

After a bit of thoughs, given that DAWS package "save mission" module hasn't any issue with CTLD or MOOSE and DAWS Weather is correctly working for 1.5.6 and even with 2.1.0 I'm going to develop further DAWS package "AI enhancement" features aiming to 2.5 release and therefore stopping testing it on 1.5.6. I will continue to support "Save Mission" feature while trying to have a more comprehensive DAWS package mod from day 1 of 2.5 release, hoping to optimize my very limited coding effort :)

Quick question. DAWS core....can it save those weird objects we call "CARGO"? I could test, but i'm running around doing feasibility tests for a campaign idea and I have lots of research to do first. I would also like spawned units to have their routes saved to be honest also, rather than the seperate enhancements that are handled by other scripts.

Hi, the save function doesn't seem to work for me. I got one confirmation message at the start of the mission that it had created a save file, but any other saves I make during the mission aren't saved. Whenever I open the save file, it only takes me back to the start of the mission.

 

This is the same for the autosave as well, in that it takes me back to the start of the mission.

 

I installed the mod through JSGME.

Daws lets you save the situation on the battlefield, even in multiplayer missions: this way you can create and manage multiplayer campaigns that last for a while, that can last for days or months...

The problem is that daws is not fully compatible with the moose: Daws prevails over the moose, leaving the moose only the creation of planes and helicopters, not even ground forces.

Also daws does not allow moose to handle the radio menu, so I can not create those attack missions managed through the FACS ...

If it was possible to make DAWS fully compatible with the moose, then we would finally have real multiplayer campaigns even in DCS ... it was a shame!
