Hi to everyone,

i have searched on the forum, and on google but with no joy.

Using Saitek HUD software and DCS config panels i have managed to do a very good configuration for Flaming Cliffs Aircrafts (Su25t, Su27, F15c etc) using mouse TDC slew axis. With the right sensitivity it works really good,

The problem is that with DCS-a10c in the axis screen there is no mouse option for hotas slew command and using bands is not very good.

Is there a way in which i can add this command? Thanks

You can see the attached screenshots to see the difference.

Hi there,

in the axis menu the command isn't called mouse option. just bind the mouse stick to the slew horizontal and vertical in the axes menu. a mouse stick has a x and a z axis as well.

I also have X55 hotas, can I please ask how do you use the 'stick/mouse' controller on the throttle? I don't use the Saitek program I just input controls directly into DCS. Do you have to use the Saitek HUD software to enable this control?

I use the HUD Software. I have set the "mouse" up as bands in the software and it controls my Target Designation Slew Control. Then I have another button set as "enter" to select the target. The software is actually really nice once you are familiar with it. Can change things on the fly and profile it as soon as you make a change and it's automatically changed in the sim.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to see if I can find some YouTube tutorials on setting it up. I've had a quick look at it, and it all seems rather foreign to me, but from your comments it would appear to be worth the time investment to sort out. Thanks again!

Hello...sure, no problem at all.

Anyway it is based on athlon one, but heavily modified.

I am looking forward to do 2 mode profile(only for throttle buttons).

Mode 2 for Aicraft Start-UP/Shutdown, Navigation and Mode.

While mode 1 is as similar as possible to the whatog profile.

Anyway when it will be finished, i will be happy to share

Yes but they are not viewed as axis.

I already tried what you suggest but without any luck.

Slicker55. Maybe i have a solution.

Look here:

then playing with axis sensitivity in DCSW or in Saitek HUD should do the rest

I am not at home right now. But this evening i'll try it for sure.

I was also considering that in Hi fidelity DCS modules the mouse is used to interact with cockpit functions, so map mouse axis as TDC would never be possible

Hi dear, in order to map the mouse nipple as bands or mouse axis you have to use Saitek HUD software, you can't do it with DCS World config menu.

If you need more help i'm here.

I've tried that but couldn't get mode 2 or 3 to work with the beta software. I'm using HUD, Windows 10 beta version and I think I may have read (possibly on the update notes) that modes are not supported yet. In my opinion, it's time Saitek got their backsides in gear and released a full working version for Windows 10. Edited by slicker55

Thanks for taking the time to forward this suggestion - appreciated. I will read with interest but when it comes to editing the registration you're on dodgy territory (unless you know what you're doing)

OK...i did it (anyway it is easy and you can always undo) and i am very satisfied.

Infact with DCS-A10C (but i tried also with Falcon BMS) it is really perfect.

While with FC3 planes (su27, mig29, f15, etc) it is better to map the nipple as mouse in HUD software, and map tdc to mouse x and y in DCS config. That's why the TDC slew with FC3 planes is too sensitive, while with the A10 module is perfect.

Strange, but anyway now i am pretty satisfied.

I advice you to try

I read in the latest PC Pilot magazine that Saitek are still working on WinX drivers and software...as this is a relatively new product I can't believe they've not sorted it yet...

Several months ago I felt quite reassured that something from Saitek was imminent. This was after establishing contact with someone 'in-the-know at one of their offices. However, months on and we're still trying to find workarounds for what is essentially poor customer support.

Look here:

Hi,

I tried your Reg hack method (adding axis #6 and #7 as recommended) which did resolve the 'slew' issue (works great) but it stopped my combat pedals from working!

I now realise the pedals utilise axis # 6 and #7 so this makes sense.

It looks like I will have to 'lose' two axis's from somewhere in order to retry this hack.

Going to see if I can track down the stick 'twist' axis (don't need these as I have pedals) and give it another try.

Hi vincent_dimicco,

Further to my earlier post, I owe you an apology - I was hasty in concluding that your reg hack had not worked. As you may recall, I reported that whilst your method had resolved the 'nipple' slew issue, it had stopped my pedals from working.

I thought this might be because they were using the same axis's as your fix calls for but Last night, I decided to give it another try and to my total surprise, it worked this time. I don't know what I did wrong the first time - I must have failed to follow your instructions precisely.

I'll let you know if I experience any conflicts.

Thanks for discovering a great solution
