Thanks guys!

Weird that I missed this since I check the boards daily. Ah well, now I can at least see what the other options were.

But on topic, I guess that what we've got now with Edge is good enough for most people, a bit more eye candy is always nice, but a dynamic campaign or fully modeled fast movers are true game changers. You will get a lot more mileage out of them.

1 day poll Kinda WEIRD??? Didn't even get a chance to Vote. I am guessing quite a few others didn't as well.. At Least the biggest vote was for the Dynamic campaign as it should be!!

After the first few hours the percentages pretty much stayed the same so what was the point of keeping it longer?

I did expect the poll to go longer. Being a details kinda guy I voted for OTHER but was still thinking about my post when the poll ended.

Honestly I didn't take a shine to any of the poll options but I think it is an OK result. If ED end up working on a Dynamic Campaign kind of project then that might improve many areas of DCS and make me happy indirectly.

If ED will be "eating their own dogfood" their could be a lot of flow on benefits.

Well, who knows what the poll will lead to. Even if ED made a definitive decision to start work on a dynamic campaign tomorrow, we wouldn't see the fruit of that labour for years. So, in the mean time, we would be sure to see improvements in a lot of other areas including audio/visual effects.

Would it really take several years to implement? I certainly hope not. There has been some ground work already done ala inventory/warehouse feature. There may be other features, but I can't recall them off the top of my head at the moment. Also over the years the community has been very expressive about making this happen so I would hope there has been some exploratory work going on in parallel with the rewriting of base code that we are getting in 1.5/2.0 already.

All speculation of course, but I hope ED is just getting a better snapshot from the community so they can better allocate their resources for the next big push once 2.0 and maps to come are delivered. :)

The auto-mission generator, for example, was a step in laying groundwork necessary for a dynamic campaign. A dynamic campaign needs to be able to generate missions after all.
