Clean install of OS, no luck. Same error: DCS has stopped working.

I had a similar problem with DCS after a new win7 install. I needed to completely update through Microsoft and install both old DirectX and new DirectX (last version 9 and current version) plus the various C++ versions. Somewhere in that lot it was fixed.

I think Pikey may have mentioned doing this.

Edit - this was shortly before 1.5 beta came out

Sgt_Fresh, can you confirm for us that your Win7 install is up to date?

Fault Module Name: nvd3dumx.dll

seems to be a part of the video driver

so your driver (version) is not up-to-date or incompatible

Application Name: Launcher.exe_DCS

Application Version: 1.2.16.43180

seems to be latest stable

- try another version Video driver from Nvidea, a newer, an older or a beta

- try another version of DCS stable, an older one than your latest

- try a version of DCS openbeta (download the Bin's)

- the latest version of DCS openbeta 1.5.147025.99 has some issues with monitor drivers in Single Player

- I am running openbeta DCS 151.46722.87 for single player, but run openbeta 1.5.147025.99 for Multiplayer

how to setup another version than the latest explainded here;

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030

for keeping apart the profiles / and the bindings theirein you can edit a version description in dcs_variant.txt (do not use dots)

A quick google shows (hidden among the junk ) that the cure for this .dll error is to use another driver, as majapahit suggests.

Worth a try, I think.
