bunraku Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Hi How do you stop your steerpoint changing to the next waypoint when flying over your current steerpoint. Sometimes I have multiple target sin an area and have to come back and it's annoying to see the HUD has changed the steerpoint to the next one in my mission flight path. I seem to remember there being a way to change this in the MFD. Thanks
Goldham Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Gp to the flight plan menu on the CDU and press the OSB next to the flight plan to switch it to Man.
Blooze Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Click the FPM button under the CDU screen on the right console, the first line should read "01 Auto MSN" ... then click the arrow left to it and it changes to Man. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
7rooper Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Nice tip! StrongHarm Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 My personal CDU/HUD prefs are setup this way before each flight: Change HUD: - IFCC switch to TEST > (UFC)Display Modes > -- TAPES to YES -- RDALT TAPE to YES -- VERT VEL to YES Change CDU to show Bullseye in HUD: - (UFC)FUNC > WP > -- (OSB)Anchor Point > HUD ON Disable auto waypoint switching: - (UFC)FUNC > FMP > -- (OSB)MSN from AUTO to MAN View Ground Speed on CDU for taxi: - (UFC)FUNC > STEER > -- (OSB)Change speed indication from IAS to GS I fly with my CDU in STEER mode switching sometimes to POS mode. I like to keep my eye on wind and temp as well as current and relative position. 1 It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

QuiGon Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 You can also use the knob below the CDU to switch from Flight Plan mode to Mission mode. In that mode your waypoint won't change automatically. bunraku Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Hi Once you've selected MAN through the CDU how do you return to the previous page.Sorry
rob10 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Hi Once you've selected MAN through the CDU how do you return to the previous page.Sorry I believe you have to select whatever page you want to go to next. There is no "back" button to go back one menu page (although if that particular menu has more than one page you can flip back and forth between them).
Ragtop Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I believe you have to select whatever page you want to go to next. There is no "back" button to go back one menu page (although if that particular menu has more than one page you can flip back and forth between them). The CDU does actually have a PREV button, just to the right of the FPM button. It will do exactly that. 476th vFG Alumni
CrossWiseRanger Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 When I change VERT VEL to Y, no change in HUD display. Does something else have to be turned on also? TAPES and RDALT TAPE work just fine. Also, is there a location in the LUA to make these the default options? Thanks. VR with Oculus Rift preferred flying method.
Hansolo Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 IMHO It will only show up when HUD is in NAV mode. Use the Master Mode control button switch on the stick for that. Cheers Hans 1 132nd Virtual Wing homepage & 132nd Virtual Wing YouTube channel My DCS-BIOS sketches & Cockpit Album

Cheers Hans Hans - you are the ace. Your suggestion worked. NOTE: Flight manual incorrect. "VERT VEL. Select Y to display a vertical velocity scale on the left side of the HUD." As seen in picture, displays on the right. To assist other fledglings, key points summarized in picture. Two primary benefits: Vertical Velocity in HUD and no lag. . NeilWillis Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Another quick way to get manual waypoint switching is to switch the Steerpt knob on the Auxiliary Avionics Panel to Mission. Taking it out of Flt Plan means waypoints do not change unless you select them. It is always a useful switch position when you're in combat, and you can then retain the automatic progression for the navigation phase of the mission, so you get the best of both worlds.
