C-130 might have enough public data to create for DCS, considering so many countries use the aircraft it would be a great non-fighter aircraft we could play with. Additionally it does have fairly impressive gunship/ground attack support capabilities.

+1

Also as a VR pilot I really want a big cabined/cockpit bird to sit in. Something I can turn and look around in, switch positions and basically have a VR tour of the bird. That would such a breath of fresh air vs the cramped confines of the fighter cockpit to enjoy occasionally. One of the reasons I enjoy the Heli modules.

I've updated my previous post with a few significant additions. However, as of this moment, I've spent (wasted?) over an hour on this problem, and I don't feel like doing a research paper on the subject, for no significant gain, so: there's plenty out there to support (at least most of) my objections to the V-22 project's relatively low priority on personnel safety, particularly regarding the large "window" during normal operation where the aircraft is unable to safely deal with a complete lost of engine thrust. I've provided a few links, but I welcome you to examine the matter for yourself, and then decide whether you want to believe the USMC, Boeing, etc. or the whistleblowers when sources are in conflict. But even the invested parties admit that the bird isn't really able to autorotate.

You're arguing to support your stance on disliking the V22 in the real world with a focus on safety (or lack of) and that's absolutely fine.

That side of the argument has no relevence in DCS though.

Also whether or not you personally like an airframe has no bearing on if it should be developed for DCS either.

The V-22 is the Rotary Wing version of the F-35. It's an overpriced Egg Beater. The Chinook is a far better Aircraft for WAY less money.

That being said, I don't think there is enough public data to do a DCS level V-22.

dunno if that analogy works quite compare since F35 has more advanced avionics and has stealth.

Plus even right now, the F35A per unit is cheaper than the Eurofighter Typhoon which isnt a stealth capable fighter, and its cost will drop down further as becomes more mass produced.

Besides the Chinook is a much older bird.. It Has been around since the vietnam war. its basically the Hueys heavy lift counterpart, which itslef Huey's obviously have long been phased out in the army and USAF by the UH60.AS such the Army is very much contemplating replacing these helicopters. There is indeeded the armies FVL program, a tilt rotor aircraft being developed for for US army needs. The Bell V-280 Valor. The army just may get thier "v22" in the the future XD.

I agree theres proably not enough public data, but the Osprey is a unique bird, due to beiung a Tilt Rotor aicraft with itsits vtol/stol capabilities. to me being able to get to point a to b much quicker due to its high top speed, will be less boring than flying a much slower typical utility Rotary aircraft already in DCS, so I would very much welcome the addition of a V22 Osprey module in DCS
