HiJack Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 ED please use less time on cities and static buildings and create larger maps (even low res terrain map) but add more airports and aircraft positions. Focus on the air we fly in and the terrain looking out from a cockpit, navigation, moving ground units, and new aircrafts. Create/update all the old aircraft models rather than impressive large buildings reproduced to the detail.
dabomb Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Aaaand on behalf of all of us helicopter pilots, please disregard everything he just said and keep up the good work on the detailed cities, buildings, etc. 1

Ultra Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) It's a balance. If you make the ground objects too low priority it can be a real immersion breaker for CA users, heli pilots, and even when you're just flying low. I don't think Nevada went too far with this, it looks awesome but besides Las Vegas, it's mostly just desert. So I think it's balanced well. Edited December 4, 2015 by Ultra
Zimmerdylan Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I want whatever you guys chose to create. Both maps are wonderful and have their advantages. Perfect balance. The idea for me is that Georgia does not have to be Georgie in my mind. I'm so unfamiliar with the area that it could be South Africa, or Siberia in my imagination. And Nevada, I am intimately familiar with so I can imagine it as a place where I fly, or rescue in a city or whatever, and the desert could be anywhere. Iraq, Afghanistan, or wherever. But then....I am a professional artist and musician so I imagine for a living a lot of the time. The only thing for me is that, as an American citizen, and being very familiar with the City of Las Vegas (I am there frequently), I find it unnerving to launch bombs and rockets at a city in a country I spent 4 years of my life defending. Now I know how people in Georgia must feel about the map there. This is just my personal feeling. But the Nevada desert......all bets are off. None the less.....I'm very satisfied with whatever you guys come up with. Not taking anything from O.P.'s opinion, everyone is different.
David OC Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Nevada is a masterpiece.... Nevada is a masterpiece in disguise... Free map for the A10c Beta owners...Check New DCS DX11 engine EDGE....Check Map with both large space and a fairly large city to test and push EDGE....Check Real word simulated training missions....Check More sales... Air force may use it for teaching? May lead to some more great simulated Mil projects? Air force pilots from around the world may use it before going to Red Flag for training and getting familiar with the area? etc etc.... This map shows ED just how far they can push maps and city areas and keep system spec to some sort of reasonable compromise. So buy the time strait of Hormuz and the F18 is out everything will be running perfect right! ;) LOL Cannot wait!! copypaper Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Can't please 'em all! I personally love NTTR. It's a wonderful contrast to what we already had.
HiJack Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 Yes it is wonderful! I just wanted more terrain, airports and navigation. Hopefully it will grow :D
BaD CrC Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Aaaand on behalf of all of us helicopter pilots, please disregard everything he just said and keep up the good work on the detailed cities, buildings, etc. +100000. We choppers pilots are insanely happy with your work ED. Your map is amazing and every little building/house/tree is a non stop joy for us. VincentLaw Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 DCS Las Vegas is by far the best first party flight simulator terrain I have ever flown over, and it is just meant for aircraft. I can't wait to see what kind of details we get on a map designed for ground vehicles! The only thing I agree with the OP about is larger maps. No less time should be spent making DCS cities beautiful. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Boss86005 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 NTTR is beautiful! KEEP the cities and high texture buildings in all of the maps.
