Why was my bug report merged into a discussion? Any comment from the Devs?

Chizh?

Simply put, they do not have an answer, other than it's WIP. I feel your frustrations, but I'm confident ED will sort it, one way or another. Chin up 'Ol chap!

Beamscanner, any source that APG-63 is "larger" than MiG-29S radar?

Also, from what I've found a MiG-29S also uses a mono-pulse array radar before 1996...

Why don't you look up the sizes of those dishes yourself? It's something like 600mm for the MiG-29, 36" for the Eagle.

Wait, by "large" and size you mean diameter of the "dish" ? Isn't the "dish" (round like a satellite dish) old? Fyi the MiG-29S uses no "dish" anymore, it has a modern plate-like radar (AESA or sth. like that, a flat plate). Will look up the "sizes" (diameters?) however. OK.

Dishes are round, and usually so are fighter radar antennae :) They're all called dishes AFAIK :)

Yes.

The 120C has more resistance for countermeasures than 120B and 77.

R-77 has same level of CCM as 120B.

Is this CCM coded in DLL or somewhere in LUA?

I prefer calling my radar antenna a plate or pan.

Thing is, you can cook breakfast, your crew chief, and incoming missiles with a modern radar.

Really efficient device ain't it?

Sweep, you can cook with a radar? Do you think it can hurt a person several hundred meters in front of radar for only few seconds?

You can cause severe damage to the eyes within a certain distance for example, as well as skin burns. But it'll be closer than several hundred meters.

It's in DLL.

That's poor.

They open half game in LUA, next half is coded.

It surely does. I never said it didn't.

I said the APG-63 used a superior mono-pulse array, which happens to be a planar array. the N019/N001 use twisted cassegrain antennas, the same type used on their MIG-25s and late MIG-23s..

Posted

You don't know about N010 ? detection range of up to 120 km vs a 5 m2 RCS target, up to 10 targets tracked and up to 4 attacked at once in air-to-air mode. The antenna is an electronically scanned slotted planar array and has a diameter of 624 mm.

None of the aircraft you get to fly in the game right now are in any danger of having an ESA modeled.

As for the current aircraft modeled, yes, they use the twisted cassegrain antennae for the flanker and MiG-29, AND they're monopulse radars. But the antenna configuration has some disadvantages compared to a slotted planar antenna, such as larger sidelobes etc.

I think its funny that you want another radar with a 120km range.

Fly the F-15 on internal fuel and 6 missiles. :megalol:

Because it was never equipped with an ESA?

There isn't even much to go by for the N019, so all of that fun stuff is a treat for you.

Why not internal fuel and 6 missiles Sweeper?

Because you would have the radar range you want, missiles that act a bit more like they should, but with better range than MiG-29... :D
