JazonXD Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Hi everyone, I just want to know what's the best countermeasure to drop when a Tunguska has fired at you. I know the missile's optically guided, but I'm not sure what I should do once it's fired... you know, so I don't get shat on :D:joystick: Thanks AMD 5600X -- Gigabyte RTX 3070 Vision -- 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 -- HP Reverb G2 -- Logitech 3D Extreme Pro -- Thrustmaster TWCS BRRRT! Ultra Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I asked a similar question a few months ago, I think my thread will have all the info you need. :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143805
Nerd1000 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Simply flying at sufficient altitude really helps with the Tunguska. The missiles are fast but lose energy fairly quickly. Sadly, 'sufficient altitude' in this case is probably somewhere above 6000m. Your best bet is to destroy the Tunguska before it can fire on you, preferably from well outside its max range. An anti-radiation missile or AGM-65 would be your best choice. Be sure to must launch multiple missiles at each Tunguska because they are able to shoot them down.
VAF [136] Striker Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 They have a very short range, about 6.5 miles. They're easy to detect on RWR so it's best to not fly directly over them. Anything radio/optically guided is difficult to evade for the main reason that chaff and flares are not effective at all. This article explains how they work. 2K22 Tunguska Nvidia GTX-1080 Intel i7-4820K 3.7 Ghz ASUS ROG Rampage IV Extreme MB 32 GB Memory Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I've never had a Tunguska shoot a missile down. The Tor will though. I think it can only shoot down very big and relatively slow missiles like Kh-29, may be also Maverick not sure. I remember seeing it do that a few times. Fri13 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I would like to know could those shoot in reality fast missiles like Vikhr? At least in theory it should be visible on the radar as missile and the cannon bursts would easily defeat Vikhr. Question really is can they spot the missile in time. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

They won't shoot Vikhrs- none of the SAMs in-game target them.
