Zompa Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Not very good on how forums work but the Wish List section had no "new thread" button where I could find it. So I'm posting this here, sorry mods! But I keep wondering how difficult it would be to have an Integrated Radio system. So if pilots were on the same frequency in Multi they could communicate if they had a microphone. If somebody were not to have a mic they could listen in. Would it be impossible? Or just not worth the trouble? Thanks for anybody taking the time to read this. If this has been brought up before, I'm sorry for resurrecting a dead idea. Happy flying
spacenavy90 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Try a program called TARS: http://www.excessiveheadspace.com/tars/user-manual/tars-teamspeak-3/ It does exactly what you want by using Teamspeak. Most dedicated servers use this anyway. Zompa Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 wow that is really cool.. thank you so much for sharing. I'll look into this
Steel Jaw Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Trouble with TARS is that nearly every time TS is updated TARS stops working. SageOT Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 UniversRadio is where it's at. Stable as heck and very easy to use. http://tacnoworld.fr/ VFA-25 Fist of the Fleet[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Carrier Strike Group One | Discord
craig_sez Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Man o man thats a simple and small cockpit..Wonder what kinda pc power is needed to run it all and how much to build...That would be perfect for me.. The "SCALES" of aeronautical performance will weigh heavily on your next move..
ShuRugal Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 The problem with Teamspeak is that no one uses it outside of squadrons. For those of us who prefer to fly pick-up-group style (I don't have the free time to reliably fly with a squad), lack of in-game voice communication support is a crippler.
tifafan Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Why not using Aries:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=104800& I think it's the best integrated radio at present. TARS can not be using for current DCS verison.
JUICE-AWG Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Is TARS compatible with 2.0 yet and will it be refreshed for the 2.5 merges soon? "There are only two types of aircraft, Fighters and Targets." Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Snoopy Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Is TARS compatible with 2.0 yet and will it be refreshed for the 2.5 merges soon? TARS hasn't been officially supported for years now. Take a look at DCS Simple Radio Stand Alone, doesn't need TeamSpeak to work. The 476th just switched to Simple Radio from UniversRadio. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169387 v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
