I don't have the Steam version though. I know you can use DCS website keys to activate Steam products but I don't think it works the other way around.

 

It's the other other way around. Steam works on Standalone, Standalone doesn't transfer to Steam. ;)

That's why. Keys used to be merged by ED onto Steam on monthly basis, not anymore.

Dear all,

 

We learned from Valve/Steam that they will be unable to continue merging DCS keys purchased outside of the Steam Store. As such and as of today, please note that any keys purchased outside of the Steam Store can no longer be used to activate DCS products on Steam.

 

We will be working with Steam to merge all keys purchased prior to today. We can make no promises as to when or if this will happen though… that is out of our hands.

 

Please note though that keys purchased on the Steam store will work on DCS World downloaded from the DCS Store.

I've been waiting for this sale with great anticipation to buy the L-39 only to get a rude awakening today :( . I guess it's still too early after release for it to be discounted?

Just bought all the individual FC3 aircraft even though I own Flaming Cliffs 3 already. Will probably give them away as gifts to the community later on.
