I have an X-52, in game "First trigger detent" properly configured to X-52's first detent, shows up working in control page, when pressed.

Doing a strafe run with RKT pipper and CCIP gun cross, gun switch in GUN/PAC, first detent doesn't seem to stabilize anything, gun burst walks up pretty much when firing. Is it because I'm basically in RKT mode, and PAC doesn't work then, or it should work (for the gun of course) also in RKT mode? Any visual indication (control light indicating PAC is in fact workingt at first detent or anything)? How would I know PAC is in fact working? Should I maybe switch rockets off to see PAC stabilizing the gun shot at first detent, or...?

Thanks for help

If u look at the lower left part of the hud u will see a "PAC-1" message appear with the first detent, then if u squeeze the second stage it will say something like pac2 (cant remember right now).

As for the rocket issue a track or video could help identify it.

Thanks, I have no problem with the RKT, just tought it would disable GUN/PAC for the gun, if I'm in RKT CCIP mode. Checked what you said, PAC-1 appears also in RKT CCIP mode. I just don't understand, why the gun bullets are walking up so much then...

THX again

Make sure air brakes are fully retracted.

Oh s**t! Thanks! I always went in w/ fully deployed airbrakes to win some more aiming time... turns out I spoiled the grouping with that... is it written anywhere in the manual, or how could I have known this without you?

Anyway

Don't forget, that's a two-way street! Speed is life.

Airbrakes outright disable PAC, that's why you're loosing accuracy. I find it oddly useful, if I need higher dispersion for some reason for a specific attack run just slightly opening airbrakes is faster than switching out of PAC on the AHCP.

I read it from somewhere here on the forums myself.

And as Harzach said, you shouldn't be looking to buy time on gun runs. Turn in, align, BRRRT, and turn out: don't get fixated.
