hannibal Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 i see that teamspeak has a radio TARS tactical aviation radio system application that allows teamspeak to work/integrate VoIP with the DCS radio communications. is there anything else like this? i like to have ability to have a radio station and have music broadcasting as i perform leisurely flight... any info, thanks much appreciated! find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
BaD CrC Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 UniversRadio (http://www.tacnoworld.fr) and Aries (http://www.ariescon.com). Tested both solutions among several squads events with 30/40+ pilots and, in terms of stability, UniversRadio beats Aries big time. Aries is just better known because they are better at advertising themselves. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
fitness88 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I read about real time weather app that can be used where you be flying...not music though.
hannibal Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 awesome!! im going to check this out when i have a chance! find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Evilducky Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Maykop radio use to be in the game way back in the blackshark days. You can probably still configure it, but what it did was you put music files in a special folder and turned your radios to the freq. designated to it, and it would play your music files as long as you were in range or the radio and it worked like a real radio did off the towers. It was pretty cool and I miss it :(
BackboneOne Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) create 1 infantry unit, set desired frequency, set transmit message, choose audio file (1-2 hour lenght ogg format, 50 kbps), enable loop mode, you have just created a radio). in my uh-1 vetnam sandbox im using 5 such radio stations with different tunes. also im using this "beacons" to navigate (for example 31.00 MHz FM transmitting Jimi Hendrix concert and lead you to MASH hospital, 32.00 MHz FM is transmitting Creedence and leads you to base camp etc). also you can create separate channels in AM which will be transmittin vietnam comms for full immersion) Edited January 8, 2016 by BackboneOne MB: Asus ROG Strix Z390-E \ CPU: i9-9900K NZXT Kraken X52\ DDR4: 3000MHz G.SKILL Trident Z Royal 32Gb RAM \ VID: MSI Nvidia RTX4070 12GB \ MON: Samsung ue49ks8000 49'', Lilliput 8'' x2 CNTRL: Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog \ Saitek Combat Rudder pedals \ TrackIR 5 \ Thrustmaster MFD Cougar Pack
NeilWillis Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I think there is a mod in this if someone has the inclination and knowledge. Adding our own music tracks will mean there is no copyright problem associated with it.

spaceraver Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 How about polling a Teamspeak channel bot in a separate channel that just plays Internet radio? If universradio can connect to such a bot, assign it a channel in DCS, you should be able to tune the aircraft radio to that frequency and listen to that radio. Anything with a Rotary Wing is fun and challenging. Use SRS radio. I'm having problems with the music radio transmissions and I would like to compare my WIP to yours to figure out what I am doing wrong. -Also, I would very much like to see what else you have implemented in such a scenario ;-) It would be much appreciated. //Nicolai
Schwarzfeld Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Eh, I dunno, flying in a real aircraft I've never liked the idea of music in my headset, but when I fly Elite: Dangerous, I just put pandora up in a browser window in the background. I know a retired Mohawk pilot who got himself and his right seater in DEEEEEP trouble because they were over Pax river orbiting and testing Q-bird jamming gear whilst pumping Metallica over the intercom for an hour - and they knocked out BWI's entire radar array for 30 minutes due to failing to pay attn to their flight path with active jammers on lol When I fly DCS, I run LiveATC in the background with a busy channel like Houston approach, or if I'm flying 2.0 Alpha over vegas, I run LiveATC in the background with KLAS (McCarran) guard frequency and/or approach etc. I've never understood the ATC chatter mods for DCS, you can get live ATC streams for free in the browser or MP3 player, just plug in the ICAO for the airfield you want to stream. http://www.liveatc.net/
