Devrim Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Hi all! I have a question guys. You do know that Rhino's throttle friction is noticeably heavy. Even if you adjust tightness at the lightest end, you get really heavy feel. But! Here, if I really force the throttle to move forward and aft with faster speed, and if I do that many times, the throttle's resistance gets loose after 3~5 (fwd-aft force) try. This is interesting. For a moment heavy throttle goes away. Then, I leave the throttle. After a couple minutes I see that heavy throttle is back again! If I'll fly a jet, it's OK, but I do that and loose throttle if I use Ka-50 or Huey. What I wonder is that is this the same on your device? Thank you. Ciribob Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Exactly the same on mine. Leave the throttle in a sun beam and it gets loose too. I guess the friction warms up the grease. For helicopters, I split the throttle and use the left for throttle and the right for collective and the friction seems just right for me :) Scripts: Complete Transport And Logistics Deployment - CTLD / CTLD Examples - Lots of example of how to use CTLD CSAR Script - Downed Pilot Rescue / Dedicated Server Script - Automatically launch DCS Multiplayer server at startup Range Scoring Script - Get scores and counts hits on targets for gunnery or bombs / SimpleSlotBlock - Multiplayer dynamic Slot Blocking Script Projects: DCS-SimpleRadio Standalone - DCS Radio Integration for All Aircraft - NO TeamSpeak Required! :) DCS-SimpleRadio Troubleshooting Post / DCS-SimpleRadio Free Support Channel on Discord
Gladman Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 After some use it loosens up and stays that way. I have mine on the lowest friction setting and leave it there. I don't know about the sun thing but it sounds realistic. i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord
Devrim Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Thanks for replies. ...split the throttle and use the left for throttle and the right for collective and the friction seems just right for me :)Yea, tried that. I get really nice result in that way, but ... I don't know... I couldn't get used to single throttle, especially in combat flight. :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068

Deezle Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 The problem is the grease they use. You can take apart and attempt to remove the tacky grease, it's quite a chore. ebabil Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Devrim selam, are you happy with x-55? i had x-52 for a while but i had hated it. because bottom of the stick used to "stick" to it's base while manuevering. so i had to apply more force to get rid of this friction and after some point it used to cause over manuever. in Turkish; joystick, manevra yaparken alttaki birleşme noktasındaki plastik kısma sürtüyordu. bu sebeple takılıyordu, bu takılmadan kurtulmak icin fazladan güç uygulamak gerekiyordu, sonuç saçma sapan manevralar :) FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 | Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15E| F-4| Tornado Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60 Youtube MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5
Devrim Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Merhaba. :) In English; This is a quote from X52 vs X55 topic: Hi. I'm new X-55 user after four-year X-52 usage. :P I sold my X-52Pro to a friend of mine and got the Rhino. Pros: I like the toggle switches. They're gathered on throttle base. That's nice because I hated X-52's buttons (on its MFD) and toggle switches on stick base. I like additional two 8-way hats on throttle. Very very very very useful. Same, I like extra 1 hat on stick. Rotaries on throttle are easy turning, no resistance like X-52. I like the movement feeling of stick. It's different from X-52, but need to get used to it. Cons: Heavy throttle. Even if adjustment is at lightest side. All buttons need really more pressure to press! It's like they were made for heavy-duty! X-52's buttons were very soft. As they say stick has placement issues comparing to X-52. I'm not talking about distance between some hats. The head of stick should have been placed in forward position a little bit. You need to take your thumb back too much to touch any hat. I realized that two-stage trigger was really important thing! Mouse stick feeling is same as X-52Pro but stick has no sensitivity. Stick goes to at the end (no matter it's X or Y), but requires more pressure to send command to PC. I don't know maybe mine one has problem. Overall, I really need to get used to it after X-52Pro. Last week I was very eager to buy X-55, but now, if they ask me that if I want X-55 again, I think I would hesitate to sold my beauty X-52Pro. Actually I'm aware of that I need a little time. My fingers try to re-learn positions of hats and buttons. Maybe that's normal... :)About friction in X-52 stick, yes I (remember) agree on that. I tried some oil/grease something, but I can't say it worked great. My last thought was that I can live with that, but only if I fly jets. You know, in helicopters you need more movement area while using stick, and this problem annoying you too much while flying a helicopter. In Turkish; :) Abi... See you. :) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068

Devrim Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 Hi. As I wrote in prev. page, yes I had that problem in X-52. I tried to use some grease, but I can't say it worked like a charm.
