Campaign Mission 1 trigger not working

I'm having a problem in 1.5 in the first campaign mission, when you do the familiarization flight and drop off mail and such to the different outposts. Approaching the "Vetka" FOB, the last one before you turn north, I get the triggered message that tells me to land at the farmstead out of town, and to avoid the river bank. However, after landing, I don't get the "unload the documents" message, the trigger doesn't work, and I can't progress with the mission.

Happened to me too around a month or so ago. I figured I had landed at the wrong place. To be honest, I had difficulty with that mission as the instructions would often come up when I was busy messing with my systems. I gave up on the campaign after that.

Keep trying, it is worth the effort. I too was stuck on mission one for ages. After the upgrade to 1.5 I had to start again, and have had no problems so far.

Make sure you are landing close enough to the farmstead. I have landed to the South (1.5) and the North (1.2) and got the trigger both times. Are you sure you are close enough? Collective to zero?

Landing on a different helipad might help. Sometimes the altitude of the different helipads is not the same. One is slightly above another. You can observe this in the F2 view for example. Try landing on the lowest helipad. I had this hapening once or twice myself.

 

Don't give up on the campaign, it is fun. You slowly learn to use the Mi-8. Each next mission is a bit harder then the one before. I did the campaign a few times.

 

I now do the "Bay of hogs" campaign. It is very fun. But I wouldn't recommend this for newbe Mi-8 pilots.

I've tried landing on the helipad, and also between the river and the building, no luck. Triggers worked no problem for the previous landing at the Shpora(?) FARP.

Ow that one? Yes. You must land beside the farmstead along the bank of the river. Not on any helipad. Also, take care not to land too close to the river because the Mi-8 is considered too heavy and it will sink in the mud. Due to the current state of terrain modelling in DCS, this can result in a crashed Mi-8

 

I think that's the case anyways. Will fly the mission myself shortly just to confirm.

The farmhouse where you should land is a few km south of the FARP. You should see it as you turn north to follow the river after the long Easterly flight from your first drop off.

I just flew the mission. The Farmhouse drop-off is cargo. It is the next waypoint. It is south of the Heli-pad. The documents needs to be delivered at the Helipad of Tschinkvali. The first drop-off.

Ohhhh..... I assumed all the buildings next to the helipads counted as the farmstead, as they were all on their own away from the town. Guess I'll look around a bit to the south then.

I just flew the mission in 1.5 stable version. I did not have any problems. As far as I know these are the objectives: On the first stop, be sure to land on the Southern part of the FARP. It is a tiny fraction lower then the northern part. It might just "trigger" the trigger. I think I had the same issue a while ago. :music_whistling:

 

 

And to be clear, the farmhouse landing. The farmhouse is near a checkpoint (wich is further up the hill, not visible in the screenshot) and south of the close-by FARP/helipad called "Leningori". Not too close to the river. Or you will be forced to restart the mission:

 

 

The smoke is from flares I decided to eject. :) Funny how the Mi-8 lets you fire all your weapons when you are on the ground. :)

I was messing around with the triggers a while ago and I noticed you need to be at altitude "0" for the trigger to work and to deliver the documents. And you can see the tiny height difference at the Tschinkvali FARP. It can be interpreted as a lazy soldier who does not want to walk to another heli-pad on the farp. :)

 

Funny enough, it doesn't really seem to matter in mission 5 or 6, where you have to pick-up the commandar and fly him around the battle-field during the clean-up operation near the Mi-28 crash-site. There used to be another broken trigger there. It is supposed to be fixed in 1.5.

Started the campaign fresh last night, did the first mission without a problem in 1.5.2

 

I'll do a couple more, I was going to do the mission where another helicopter crashed and you need to secure the crash-site but then 1.5.2 came :)
