It seems in one of the more recent updates, the camera no longer stays in first person when ejecting. It now goes to third person focused on the aircraft. (If third person is off, it goes to free camera where the ejection took place.) This is really annoying because it breaks the immersion. One of my favorite parts of DCS was ejecting felt real; you really felt like you were the pilot being flung out of his doomed plane to safety, rather then just seeing some random person go flying out of a plane.

This seems to happen in both 1.5 and 2.0. I really hope it's a bug and not a new feature because of the above stated reason. If it's a feature, I hope it's either reverted, or even better, an option is added to the settings to allow you to pick what type of ejection view you want.

I would be curious to know if anyone here knows more about the change or has their own opinions about it.

My first thought was "Who cares, this means nothing" and so on...but having read your post to the finish, I'll have to agree on the immersion thing (=it DOES matter). And the options-thing too ;) Maybe this is a feature they simply haven't done in the new engine, yet...

Good, I'm glad to know this has been reported and will be fixed eventually. I had tried searching for it but didn't find anything.

Hopefully, this will be fixed by the time Oculus and VIVE are available. I am looking forward to first person ejection in VR.

This looks already fixed. I just flew Su-27 in latest 1.5.3 OB and I ejected and my first person view was there all the way throughout the whole ejection sequence.

It isn't fixed for me. I am on the same patch and posted just after ejecting on the 104th server in an F-15. The camera followed the seat the whole way down.

So this issue could be for either F-15 or MP. I think later... I'll check that one also.

Alright, I checked the view when ejecting in F-15C in MP (with DCS 1.5.3) and it looked correct. The first person view was on the pilot the whole time. So I see this bug is definitely fixed.

PS: I have found only on dual seat aircraft like L-39, when ejecting the view switches first to back seat, but I have already reported this. As far as single seat aircraft goes, its definitely fixed. I would suggest you run a repair of your DCS and not use any mods and recheck.

Ejecting from MiG-21 still goes into 3rd person view.

Replicated and reported (for MiG-21Bis module bug #33824)
