Looking to have one PC connected to a 4k tv for DCS, and the same PC connected to a 27" for everything else.. Anyone have experience with this using the same PC with two Screens, Two keyboards, and two mice?

I understand what needs to be done with the screens, so my question is more about the keyboard & mice.

Will one wired keyboard & mouse and one wireless keyboard & mouse work or do you need a switch?

Appreciate any feedback on this, Thanks.

Just make sure the other mouse doesn't move while you're not using it

My system:

Intel Core i7 4770K@3.5Ghz, 16Gb Crucial 1600mhz DDR3, MSI GTX660 Gaming, Scythe Mugen 4, Samung 850 EVO 500GB, Fractal Design Define R4, WD Green 2TB, Windows 10

TM Warthog, Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudders

DCS:

If the monitors are in same place not motive to use 2 mouses, 2 keyboards as they can't be used simultaneous.

But are software that allow 1 computer to be used simultaneous be 2 or more people with extra monitors, mouse, keyboard - done different things.

You can use as many keyboards and mice you want on a single computer. However, I think there is only one mouse pointer. So there can be conflicts when two people are moving around the two mice.

Yes it will work. I am typing this on a wireless keyboard that is connected to a PC that has a TV and a 24 inch monitor (duplicated displays) along with both wired and wireless mice and keyboards.

No extra hardware or software needed.

With USB, even wired, it will work. It is no different than plugging an external mouse and keyboard into a laptop.

I don't get it. why would you even need two keyboard/mouse? It's just one computer, right?

I built a Sim next to a L-desk to rest a 4K tv and Controls just for DCS. Everything else I do is at the L-desk on a 27."

This way I only had to build one PC sharing Two Displays, Two Keyboards, and two Mice.

My pit is in it's own room so I use team viewer to access the machine, but I have a similar setup to yours in my recreation room, I just have really long cables! :D

A reverse KVM switch?

It would work, but why bother with another bit of hardware, though I do have a KVM switch (supports greater than 1080p) that I wouldn't mind getting rid of, if anyone is interested. :)

Guys, What about 2 mice doing different roles? Within the 'control' settings in DCS, I see that its considering only 1 mouse even when both are connected - i.e. I think it'll replicate the controls - however I want different sets of controls for the 2 different mice. How can I do that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

That is a Window's limitation. It is the same with keyboards.

Unless you have external software to modify what the mouse buttons do there is not much you can do to change things. Even with external software the mouse movements are still going to be interpreted by Windows the same way.

But there is a program someone wrote in this I/O Forum. Search for dual keyboard (or something like it). It's a program that allows you to use to keyboards. But it doesn't work for another mouse.

Yes indeed, that is a great bit of software but as you said, it does nothing for mouse input and that would probably be a lot harder to do.
