First thank Blaze, luckybob9 for help.

Now I know for multiple object, I can add same arg to implement combined animation. For an aircraft model im working on, i assigned left nose gear door and nose gear with arg 0 to operate the extend (door open)/retract (door close) combined animation. And it works well.

But if I further add arg 0 to right nose gear door, and set the 0 1 value correctly. (in 3dsmax, the animation shows correctly). But when I export to edm and open it in modelviewer or dcs, the left nose gear door and nose gear animation works correctly, but the right nose gear door does not have any animation, it stays in value 0 state.

Then I re-activate the arg for right door, and re-do the time point animation. Also this time i clicked 'make cool'. But the right door does not have animation yet, only stays in value 1 state.

Does anyone know where the problem comes from?

i'm using 3dsmax 2012 + edm plugin 110264

Uboat, are you assigning an Euler XYZ Controller, after you have assigned an ArgBased Rotation?

In not, you need to do so.

If so, sometimes max gets funky. It happens to me once in a while.

You'll have to remove the animation,

Remove the argbase rotation.

Assign a default controller "linear rotation"

Reset the xForm

Adjust your pivot if necessary

Reapply the argbase rotation and then assign a euler xyz to that argbase rotation.

animate your door

rexport and test.

Hi, thanks for the tips

The model was designed for FSX, so the rotation animation was done by Euler XYZ rotation in motion panel. I deleted that animation (remove all time points assigned).

Then i add argbased rotation, and make it as default, after that, the Euler XYZ rotation gone (as I expected)

I have done this for three objects, only one does not work

btw, may i know which version 3ds+plugin do you use?

is there key frames for 0 and 100 for the object that's to be animated?

Sounds like you forgot to click auto-key before animating.

I clicked the autokey before assigning the key frames. And after that, the the animation works when dragging the time bar

You do not need to click on "Make Default." That's a preset for when you create new files.

After creating the ArgBase rotation, right-click on the event and choose Assign Controller and select Euler XYZ.

Then do your animation.

Ahhh, you need to open the Curve Editor.

Graph Editor -> Track Viewer: Curve Editor

Select your object and follow my steps above :)

I woulda just used the Animation Converter Script to convert to Arg Animation.

Highlight objects of a specific animation, hit the convert button, let it assign position and rotation arg # and name, move key frames to the 100 fps scale, done. move on to the next animation, most of which are done in groups. (ie frame 1-10, 11-20, etc)

Utility was made by Colin @ MilViz a Looooong time ago, to aid in converting their Animations to Arg quickly

That argument has correct maked? I have problems on the modelviewer, the animations not show properly.

I Make a video show the proper pivot orientation and making a turret animations, the problem coming with y make the animation and export them with the EDM model tools, on modelviewer, the animation dont work properly.

The converter can be a bit wonky sometimes. I had to redo animations even after using it. It works, but sometimes it doesn't.

Silver Dragon, you need to use the Curve Editor to create a Euler XYZ after creating the Argbase rotation.

Select your object and follow my steps above.
