bzhnono Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Hi there, So I just finished The Ennemy Within Campaign yesterday evening after a few weeks of hard battle against CLA. Result : 70%, died 20 times (yes...) killed a few hundreds ground units and a few air units :) What to say... First, I would like to thanks baltic_dragon for his work. That was a very immersive campaign, lots... no, tons of voiceover helping us being really in the action, lots of different missions (not just go to IP, call JTAC, kill target, RTB... There's a lot more than that, and even when called RTB, sometimes, something happen !) I loved CSAR missions, Scramble mission was pretty exciting, the burying mission, the anti-boat and the deep penetration at the end were a lot of fun and pretty different from the classics CAS missions we got with the A10C. for the CONS : yes there are some bugs (last mission, after seeing the flares, there's a message telling that new F10 radio menu is available but there is not... Perhaps it's a missed Copy/Cut from the training mission when we can call Winchester ???, some other already known and certainly corrected by now) but in the end, it was a great fun compared to Georgian Hammer (default campaign of A10). So now, I will try Red Flag to compare with this campaign and if M2000C campaign is available by then, I'll try it before re-doing TEW frome scartch (a 2.0 version perhaps) 'cause yes, there's a lot of mission and it takes times so yes, it is re-doable with I think at least as much fun as first one. Hope it helps people wo hesitate to buy this campaign, it's a must have for every A10C lover ! Sorry for the lack of screenshots and my english :) And Thanks again to Baltic_dragon dor his work ! 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
baltic_dragon Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Thanks a lot bzhnono, really appreciate this feedback! I promise to get back to TEW, introduce all the bug fixes reported to me and work on several MP missions as promised once I finish the M2000C. Getting there! bzhnono Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 125 view of the review, hope you'll get at least 50% convinced to buy and try it :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ayindi Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) I'd say if someone has ANY plans of "seriously" flying the A10C in DCS this campaign is a must have! Adds like 100% more content to the A10C module with a good storyline (not that I am far into it, yet :P ) but it gives you 21 very well designed missions, while the build in Missions from the A10C module dont seem very realistic to me... bzhnono Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Nope, main tasking in "Odessa File" mission, can't remember the number now :) Pretty hard to lock a boat with an AGM-65 though [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Yurgon Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Pretty hard to lock a boat with an AGM-65 though I thought it was pretty easy. Gave'm two Mavs just to be on the safe side and then... ... the bastard shot me down - I'd attacked the Russian frigate instead of the leisure boat in one of my earlier attempts at the mission, and she wasn't going down without a fight. :D

Cik Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 i remember they have fired at me and killed me before, but i don't think that was in the most recent update of the campaign. i've played through TEW maybe three times in various stages of completion. the most recent i had much more luck finding the boat, gave it two mavericks at maximum range before it had moved much, then emergency jettisoned for speed. they were clearly following me, but didn't fire, whether that was because they weren't in range or they weren't willing to touch off an international incident, i'm not sure. edit: spoilers

derfritz Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Guys, does the campaign proceed after the attack on our base? Where you have to brrrt the mortars? And the commander says you are on your own? Gesendet von meinem E6653 mit Tapatalk
Yurgon Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Guys, does the campaign proceed after the attack on our base? Where you have to brrrt the mortars? And the commander says you are on your own? Yup. After the attack is averted (hopefully ;)), you are diverted to Senaki because of the damage and debris on the runway at Kobuleti. Senaki is just a stone's throw away, and you can get the tower freq from the CDU divert page or the F10 map, or just land without contacting ATC, I think you're the only good guy flying at that stage anyway. :)

baltic_dragon Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 No, the campaign has 21 missions and this one is 11th. So if you have enough of the campaign already - bad news! ;) For more information, please visit my website. derfritz Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I assumed that was the last mission and just stopped playing the campaign! Thanks for letting me know, I'm looking forward to playing more missions! Gesendet von meinem E6653 mit Tapatalk
Yurgon Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I assumed that was the last mission and just stopped playing the campaign! Thanks for letting me know, I'm looking forward to playing more missions! Oh, okay. Well, as long as you don't get a success or failure message for the entire campaign and as long as the button "Next mission" is clickable and as long as the campaign status is "Active", I'd assume it's not over yet. :music_whistling: Besides, what campaign designer would leave the player stranded at a divert airport with no way to pay the bad guys back for what they did? We all know Baltic Dragon is a sadist, but he's not that bad. :D
Andryl Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Just finished the campaing this weekend: one of the best campaings so far! The last mission was quite a challenge with the actual NVG: I had to fly it without them (scary experience) and with labels on. There are few bugs, but mainly software ones and not related with the missions themselves (ATC, units visibility,...). As an overall opinion, I enjoyed it very much and I'll look forward to playing the M2000 one. Good job, Baltic Dragon! ASUS Z170 PRO Gaming || i7x6700K@4.6GHz || Noctua NH-U14S || Corsair16GB DDR4 - 3000MHz || Asus Strix GTX-1080 TI-11GB || TrackIr 5Pro || Saitek x-55 Rhino || Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals || Win10 pro
bzhnono Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 Last mission is hard, I've also done it without NVG for the attack run and with label on, too hard to do it the real way. The hardest part of the mission was the last and final landing with the crosswind , I damaged my plane (final landing, we are victorious and I almost crashed on the runway... what a war hero :D) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

So I finished with only one wing left, but I thought it was the right end for a breath-taking action movie :megalol: (only after that I realized I landed in the opposite direction from what instructed by ATC.... nooooooooob:doh:) ASUS Z170 PRO Gaming || i7x6700K@4.6GHz || Noctua NH-U14S || Corsair16GB DDR4 - 3000MHz || Asus Strix GTX-1080 TI-11GB || TrackIr 5Pro || Saitek x-55 Rhino || Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals || Win10 pro

And if you did, I am sure you will like the M2000 one too, I feel I have learned a lot since finishing the Enemy Within and I think it shows in the new campaigns I am building. Happy to hear you had good fun! BTW, once I finish working on M2000 I am eager to get back to my Crimson Dawn project, which is a new Caucasus campaign for A-10C, featuring a full-scale conflict this time (OK, almost full - scale) :) but the release date is rather far away, as I am only around 30% done so far. The hardest part of the mission was the last and final landing with the crosswind , I damaged my plane (final landing, we are victorious and I almost crashed on the runway... what a war hero :D) I know it is difficult to use NVGs (changes introduced to snow with 1.5) and during the update I plan to change the visibility settings and replace the snow with fog, should give a smoother, but still scary experience. It is in the to do / bugtracker list. For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel.
