What plane should I get?

there's a poll function right here on the forums :D The only honest answer to that question is to follow your heart :P The plane that interests you most is the one you should get. I have two planes on the list. The MiG-21 is a fun but challenging plane. An interceptor at heart but can complete almost every type of mission. The hawk on the other hand is about the easiest plane to fly.

Yet again, go for FC3. Pay once and get complete A2A and A2G warplanes.

For a beginner i would say FC-3

 

But if you want a Full Fideilty aircraft it kinda depends on what you want.

 

Of the 3 listed i would Recommend the Mig-21Bis.

 

But id also strongly Recommend the mirage 2000 as even though its currently in beta it is improving quickly and will be fully combat capable pretty soon.

 

And its overall a much more capable aircraft then any of those on the list

 

(but still being primarily a fighter / interceptor with limited air-ground capabilities even if it beats any of the other aircraft on the list for air-ground missions aswell)

 

I have the mig-21 Bis and the Hawk i dont have the Mig-15 but it very much depends on what you want.

 

The Mig-21 and Mig-15 are the two modules that are the most complete.

 

And it also depends how you intend to play.

 

With the mig-21 being more versatile in the missions its suitable for then the mig-15.

The first module I bought for DCS was black shark 1, I had that before I bought lomac...

 

Then i got black shark 2, then the A-10C, then the P-51D... then I finally bought FC3... and so on...

 

so it depends, if you want ground pounding, the SU-25T is free, and the KA-50 or A-10C might be best

 

if you want A2A, FC3 gives you a bunch of planes, can start with the F-15, and work your way to the harder planes, the mig-29A needs a new flight model, but its systems and loadout make it a real challenge, or the mig-21, it's what I find to be the most rewarding plane in DCS to fly, but not easy.

Hawk - better wait until the update lands and see if it really makes the aircraft usable. Should be this month.

Mig-15 is simpler and easier to operate, but the only thing you can really do with the plane in DCS is to fly dogfights with F-86 and limited ground strafing with guns.

Mig-21 is the most versatile of the three and most the complex. Steep learning curve for beginners.

One of the most versatile planes for multiplayer.

 

Bomb, missiles, air to air, THE GUN :D, night vision. All weather capability. Extremely fun at night or in adverse weather.

 

Complex systems with lots of playability to not get bored easily. Modern systems, nav, weapons deployment.

 

It feels a little like a truck version of the F-16, ugly, slow, but easy to fly. Taking hits has never been so fun. Fly into thick combat, take hits, miss missiles and limp home on one engine.

mig 21 bis

 

It's hard against the mirage, but pick your targets, bombers, a10s. Fast interceptor. Fly in fast, strike and get out. ... ...also the nuke. It's capable of ground attack.

 

Ka 50

 

Essentially a helicopter version of the A10c with limited modern weapons. More of a stalking weapon. Patience and precise maneuvering.

In my opinion, between the 3 aircrafts of the list, MiG-21 is my choice.

 

Hawk T1 : Just wait for the EFM and big update of this month.

 

MiG-15 Bis, awesome plane to fly, but no campaign for single player. A good choice like the F-86.

 

MiG-21 Bis : Awesome to fly, challenging to fight against all the other fighter of DCS and pretty versatile. A campaign for solo flight. My choice will be the MiG-21.
