NOTE: The website I used dumped its DB. If you're interested anyway, let me know.

This is a quick guide on how to create a custom default cartridge for the A-10C, that will be loaded regardless if it is an editor preview, a single mission, or a campaign mission.

  • I reccommend using JSGME, but editing the files directly works as well (although updates may revert the changes).
  • You should use a proper text editor like Notepad++ or Sublime Text 3, since Windows Notepad may corrupt the file.

MFCDs The quick links on the bottom row of the MFCDs can be set.

TAD The TAD profiles can be set.

CMSP Programs can be modified or added.

IFFCC The AAS entries can be modified.

Cool, thank you very much!

IIRC there once was a program somewhere on the dcs userfiles that could set some of those parameters, I think it patched the mission file before execution to include radio pre-set frequencies and possibly more.

I would absolutely LOVE to have a small tool to do the stuff posted by you, Gliptal, combined with what that old program did. in short: To have a complete (or almost complete) data cartridge to use.

I wonder about a few more data points though:

- parameters in the IFFCC menu for CCIP modes (3/9, 5mil)

- CDU flight plan page: automatic switching of waypoints on/off

- CDU anchor page: display Bullseye on HUD on/off

Thanks again for the list, very useful!

....I just wish ED would give us a real data cartridge menu....

Thanks a lot, very interesting!

Is there also a way to modify, within the virtual cartridge, the HUD?

For example, like the 476th one with the bullseye bearing shown in the upper right corner.

I'll see if I can find the CUD stuff.

Depending on a couple of real life commitments, I may consider developing a simple App that allows for creating a catridge through a GUI rather than writing the code directly, if there is enough interest in it.

I'm sure the community would appreciate that, but personally I'm all for editing config files. When flying a lot of DCS, there's almost no way around learning how to do that anyway, with the added benefit that if I break something, I know exactly what I did and don't have to contact the app author for help and troubleshooting.

+1 !!

Can't find a way to set neither those CDU settings not the 3-9 IFFCC setting. I did find the files that lists all the options in the two pages, but it doesn't seem to be a way to change the defaults

I'll try something tomorrow and see if it ends up working.
