Why are X55 controls getting reset every time DCS updates or system is rebooted?

Every time! After update or reboot, I have to remap for every module.

What in the bloody heck is going on here?

Reloading saved file does not work.

What operating system are you using? How do you have the x-55 connected? Through a USB hub, a powered USB hub, or direct to the PC?

I have to admit I am fed up with this as well (warthog hotas, saitek combat pedals, etc)

After years of development why don't ED just update the parts that need updating NOT the whole damn thing. This is the only Sim/game that i have that does this, and i have a LOT of games, only game that is on a similar footing to DCS is Arma3 but even that does not mess with input settings when it updates. I know inputs etc are stored in "saved games" folder in "users" but i recently upgraded to win 10 (big mistake) so went back to win 7 and guess what ?

So now I have decided after years of following/supporting and playing this game NO MORE until DCS 2 and 1.5 are merged. Christ sake I have three copies ,DCS 1.5 final,DCS 1.5 Beta and DCS Alpha. One SSD just for this game. Absolutely ridiculous. Please ED, stop back slapping yourselves on your successes and sort out this mess, I don't care about modules in Beta/ Alpha stages, CONCENTRATE on the Base game, then on modules. It's called "prioritising"

Sorry about my rant but i'm 60 years old now and don't know how much time i have left.:pilotfly:

Okay. Do you keep them plugged in all the time? Win 10 had a bad habit of re-enumerating USB devices, joy 0 would become joy 1 and joy 1 would become joy 0. Try keeping them plugged in to the USB 3 ports all the time and make sure you have fast boot enabled in Win 10. The problem went away a few months back with a 10 update for myself and some other IL2-BOS users. This only applies to your issue with Windows 10. I haven't experienced the problem when I update DCSW.

Very strange....since my controls are always saved. ED implemented that you don't have to remap controls, quite some time ago. Don't know why it doesn't work for you, but sure it's irritating. There must be some way to fix it!

They are always plugged in, and always into same slots. I have two (that I know off) issues.

First is that every update or reboot, the controls get reset. Loading saved LUA settings does not set the controls. Though I am keep remapping and saving LUA file for stick mappings.

Second is that, in addition to above, inside DCS options the stick and throttle switch places. Throttle becomes left hand column, and stick column on right. Then either after DCS update or system reboot, they switch back to their correct places. Stick is left column and throttle is right.

Sometime later, at random time, they switch again and setting get lost or are not mapped properly anymore.

I hate X55, I made peace with it for a while, as my muscle memory built up, and after I took apart the hand grip and drowned servo in silicon grease to take squeaks and stickiness away. But my hate for it never really went away. So I want to beleive that its SAITEK's fault somehow, but I suspect its DCS.

I should get rid of it and get Thrustmaster Warthog. But TM Warthog does not have rudder twist (I beleive) , which means I need to get decent rudders. That would run me between 700 and 800 USD, which is more then I wish to spent on an accessory.

Are they on the same base HUB?

I run mine on two different USB 3 hubs for the same reason.

Have you tried disabling the power management for the X55 units? That should give you an idea if it's a USB port problem.

Anything with a Rotary Wing is fun and challenging.

Use SRS radio.

this sounds like an administrator issue.....i dont EVER loose bindings. are you running the game as ADMIN? it sounds like it's not saving the changes. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, sounds like a UAC issue not saving your changes because your not admin.
