OMG... Was that AI or player? I had the same situation a week ago. Only with a MIG-29. That MIG-29 kept fighting me even after his wing was partially shot up. But the 29 has EFM off course.

F15c is AI but i have that situations with F15C players too. I remeber one fight over Sochi in some BlueFlag round... F15c with one wing fight with me about 2 mins (i finish him with R73)

It's weird cause the only thing i can do when my wing has been totally blown away is trying to fly straight. Sometimes with enough speed you can still maybe get one or two maneuvers out do. At least that is my experience.

What you see online isn't always synced with what has happened to the client's aircraft.

Ok for multiplayer sync - i can accept that is not perfect.

But what to say for this... single player behavior.

I think multiplayer sync issues, general damage model, and especially AI's everything-model, are 3 least favorite features in DCS for most of us :).

Although whenever I saw off wing of an AI F-15, it immediately went into "OMG I'm dead" mode, I have seen weird things happen with other aircraft, so may be this was such a case.

I hope these things will improve sooner than later, but at least we know damage systems is being improved from what Raccoon posted recently. Whether it will be improved for AI too or not, remains to be seen.

The AI is not using the same damage model as client aircraft do. It uses the SFM which is nowhere as good as the PFM.

Sure it shouldn't fly like that with one wing but this specific issue is restricted to AI only. I find it rather difficult to precisely maneuver when a wing is missing.. and I'm pretty sure this applies to every player.

I've just had one of these "who needs wings" episodes myself, but not against F-15 :). I was flying MiG-21 against Mirage 2000C guns only. I shot his wing off, yet the Mirage had no issue still flying ,and dogfighting me :P. Love this whole AI SFM and AI damage model affair sometimes :music_whistling:

Anyway, topic is F-15, and I digress... :)
