I proudly present my new mission "Operation Cedar Spear"

Thanks a lot for sharing this, I'm not currently flying the Gazelle, but saved it for when I do return to her in the near future. Great detail to have it multi-crew enabled 👍

Haven't had the opportunity, got Gazelle only a week or so ago, so now it's time...

I'd like to thank you all, people, for the missions in this thread! I'm having severe "Gazelle frenzy", she's so insane fun and thanks to your missions I can enjoy this Little Bee even more 🙂

Yes, Cedar Spear was sooo coool, very well put together mission, thanks Don Rudi! 🙂 So far I've only taken the "easy" approach, but the "hard" one will come later.

Hi,

Just to let you know I've posted our "Pink Team" co-op multiplayer mission to "user files".. Designed for 1 gazelle and 1 hind to work together to escort and defend a convoy against insurgent attack, ambushes and IEDs. It's based on the Pink Team concept developed in Vietnam of the OH-6 Loach Scout (white) and AH-1G Cobra (Red) working together to provide scouting and overwatch cover. It is possible to change the helos in the mission, we've included detailed documentation explaining what can be changed and how.

The mission is designed to give a balanced spread of spawned encounters so that you always get several encounters, but you won't accidentally encounter everything at once.

The mission file link is https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3337444/

Please let us know if you enjoy the mission.

TJ

I tried first the built-in training but found the cold start mission really basic and incomplete

Agreed, as with all the included training missions.

I set to edit my own and take the oportunity to also learn the Gazelle's basic systems in detail.

Thank you! In the first 30 seconds of your version I learned two new things about the Gazelle, despite having flown it for a little while now. Even after just 30 seconds I'm feeling greedy for a whole series of your excellent tutorials...! 🙂

Sadly, I could not progress past the NVG section - I can't seem to fire the trigger. My keyboard binds are default, and I also tried binding to HOTAS buttons in case that worked. The NVGs themselves work fine, but the last audio I hear is "Turn them ON with [RShift + H], try it now". Have yet to find a way to set off the trigger to progress further.

Any ideas, Gazellers?

My only mods are the more polished community aircraft (A4, OV-10, SK-60, UH60) and the range scripts mod. Version used was for the Marianas map, I don't own the others.

Hi, thanks a lot for reporting it, I will check the mission tomorrow and get back to you.

The triggers that I employ reference the command itself, it does not matter if you have binded a different key to it, or if it is binded to your Hotas ... the only thing that can impact it is if the developer has changed the available commands (not an uncommon occurrence, the JF-17 did it a lot 🙂  )

Best regards,

Hi again,

I checked and found that, in effect, the developer changed Device #36 to 35:

Many thanks @Rudel_chw, for your continued support and excellent training missions. They've helped me get to grips with many DCS aircraft 🙂

I've been hugely enjoying @dggoofy's excellent UNFICYP 1983 camapign, available here:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3336299/

I have, however, run into a block in Mission 6. Really, this post is to highlight the wonderful campaign to the Gazelle community but also to give @dggoofy* a gentle nudge to have a look at the triggers in Mission 6.

Trying to avoid spoilers, my issue starts at the destination airfield. Having landed in the described spot, the co-pilot hops out to investigate the cargo...and then nothing happens. I've waited up to 30 minutes, so I don't think it's a patience problem!

Any thoughts/advice would be welcome; but also go fly the campaign! It's really great 🙂
