Hi,

I have been flying the su-27 for a while in LockOn and I start being fustrated to see around me lots of switches and buttons without knowing their purpose.

I searched the web but I cant find any documentation on the cockpit layout or the true life procedures.

Could anyone give me some clues? Thanks

I would start with the manual in the "Doc"-directory.

AFAIK there are some gauges explained, even when not implemented correctly/full (HSI has no knobs one can turn/switch, etc.)

basic

for translators ...

I think he means the switches for the weapon systems, hud, radar and all other crap in the Pit.

Is there any kind of manual like the NAVAIR's from the F14 of F18 that you can find on the net?

I found a sort of manual for targeting and engaging with the mig 29...It is in Russian, i can't read it but there are pictures....

This is the book:

I have it too, at least a part of it in pdf, I can read and understand it, but I'm too lazy, and ED knows what's in the manual anyway, so whining about the datalink not being shown correctly will only give you a 'we already know that and we're working on it for some future project' type of response.

Not just datalink.

From what we could see in some videos, the HUD is copied to HDD when in WVR mode. That shouldn't be so hard to make.

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

They all know that too, they just don't know where to begin. It would be nice, if the hud fails due to a missile hit, still being able to retaliate with the hdd.

Nope, you won't find any on the net. NAVAIR's are hard to come by. You wouldn't believe the difficulty my company is having getting NAVAIR's on battery service equipment that is almost 40 years old. Our friend at NATECH is really trying to help us too...but DLIS is holding us up at the moment. :noexpression:

Oh...I didn't just read that. :music_whistling:

I doubt what you have are Russian-translated NAVAIRs for those aircraft. They're probably more-likely to be public-domain stuff. Not that I doubt that Russia has NAVAIRs for those aircraft, its just that the FSB doesn't usually allow that stuff to go public. ;)

Actually we have, we're just waiting for our DD form 2345 to be approved and signed by DLIS. Our guy at NATECH has been awesome, and I have a feeling he's got the microfilm just sitting on his desk. He's tired of it being in his way, so he keeps sending us e-mails..."Any word from DLIS yet?" Honestly, I didn't expect DLIS to take any less than 6 weeks, they've had about three so far...its a DoD operation, they're traditionally slow. :music_whistling: NATECH has been very on-the-ball though.
