Do we need the hot fix after the last update?

I've just cheked radar, after update I can see targets in front of me, so I think fix was included!

a quick official statement about this would have been nice, but i guess its always extra stressful during update fridays.

was anything from the hotfix included in the latest openbeta updates. if so, were some of the problems mentioned in this thread already adressed?

We need Mig-21 ready for July, the ennemy is coming!!

I need to manhandle some noob in F-5E. :)

Can someone take some video footage of the new RWR behavior? Show off locks at different distances from different threat types?

What was the low altitude compensation mode problem with the radar?

Yes, the fix was included in this update. But those bugs were also included.

And yes, we can see the target in front us by Radar as before. But it is still hard to spot enemy by radar in low level. I don`t think the newest update bring what kind of upgrade for MIG21, it even becomes more difficult to see the target by eyeball.

I think there must be wrong with this new update. I will keep using the old binaries.

What bugs were included please?

Hard to spot enemy by radar in low level? SOunds normal, Mig has no radar filtering, is not look down shoot down...

Hard to see enemy by eyeball? Fix does not change visual LODs?

You need to explain, sounds normal.

Uhm, Mig does not have look-down-shoot-down but it does have radar filtering! One of these filters is for reducing ground clutter.

It isn´t a radar filtering.

In the "H Signal" (medium position) the compesation channel is engaged. Must be on below 3500-4000 meters (IRL Manuals)

The radar antenna is set in an upward position of +1.5º/2º when you engage the Low Altitude mode.

Even in this mode, the radar is unable to search and track at an altitude below of 2000 meters, according with real life manuals.

Yes, but in the first position, the side beam compensation, you can lock on low flying targets with no problem, think of altitudes of around 200-300m AGL, possibly even lower. And it is classified as a filter...

Well in my case helicopters primarily, as their cross section is fairly big, but I should correct myself in that, it`s not effortless, sometimes is won`t see them, maybe even most of the times.

I can confirm the following bugs:

- too wide FOV aspect for IR missiles

- nearly no external view sounds

- huge FPS drop especially near Sukhumi city in MP (big city, many buildings)

Posted

Seems good to me, apart form IR seeker heads being crazy good FOV.

That and having trouble with ATC, as others they dont seem to like responding after engine has been started (using correct push button, cross checked radio settings)

Loving the radar changes, seems far more accurate, same with RWR as i get used to it.

I can tell the same with Bane, about Fps loss ppl are speaking, I don't have the best machine so I always had problems with FPS. After the binaries i did had big FPS drops near or close big towns, but after running numerous tests and settings plus disabling the new binaries I can't say it comes from that rather that the sim it self.

I have a damn good machine and i can see this FPS problem in newer patch but im getting it in alot of planes. Not a Mig 21 specific thing i dont think.

Towns etc have always been badly optimized i think.

Hello

This hotfix is included in the version of 1.5.3.52724.74?

I should 1.5.3.52724.74 version, I put it on this hotfix and missing engine sounds.

Then, to restore the sound, I made recovery dcs.

I put this hotfix because the wrong radar worked.

Thanks to all.

It might also be chipset specific. I'm on a GTX970 and I see none of these issues.

I only seem to get it in the MiG-21, especially at the merge/at low altitudes. Since the FPS losses began I've flown with MiG-15 and the FC3 aircraft as well, and they are flying just dandy. When looking at the tracks to see if something specific happens, I do keep a steady FPS though

Same with the radio problems, although I've found when the problem occurs: When you ask permission to taxi, you have to choose "F3: Abort take off" first. After that, the ATC untangles itself.

I also experience some issues with the RPM and AoA needles going haywire during taxi-ing in fog, but i'm not going to report these until I can consistently reproduce the issue.

It seems that for every fix, 10 other things gets broken atm. Let's just hope 2.5 will bring some necessary stability into the platform.

@LN: Do you guys need a track for the external sounds that are on the fritz? I see that the issue is in the red on the bugtracker (bug 305)

We are investigating FPS issues.

External sounds are fixed and will be available in the next patch already. :)

The only FPS issues I encounter that relay on the Mig is frame drop when closing the canopy. Opening and closing it seems to give me different FPS results. MP only tested. Release Version with HotFix .

Yes,the problem with the canopy is an old problem. It seemed to have been solved by DCS 1.5 but from DCS 1.5.2 onwards has come back. This is what I noticed. When you close the canopy will lose many fps.

RWR seems finicky. I did some tests (Fly over ocean, with a SAM site on the other end) and I tried SA-10's, SA-3's, HAWK's, SA-11's etc. but I could never seem to get a lock warning.

I know you're not supposed to get all four lights unless you're close and locked, but I was just getting scan pings. I was almost certain I was being locked because I'd see the tracking radar tilt towards me in F9 view, but I'd only be detecting the search radar.

Eventually (usually around time of launch) all 4 lights would come on.

I dunno if the steam openbeta isn't updated yet, or what.

I know this is more realistic, but I remember hearing the frequency of the tones should increase or the light would flash more when locked, but I'm not noticing that.

I am noticing now, when I'm locked and close, all 4 lights don't stay on continuously. They light up and stay on for a few seconds all at once, then go out for a second, then they all light up again, and the cycle continues.

EDIT: These fixes are included in the latest version of DCS World.

In which release is included this hotfix?

Can't see in change log ...
