To the Leatherneck Simulations

We may found a bug of mig21bis when we multiplaying. When we are carrying the infrared guided missiles, there is a chance that the missiles will lock on to the nearest friendly aircraft which is on the front hemisphere of our mig21, while our mig21's ASP is pointing to the enermy aircraft. Besides, there is also a chance that the missiles will lock on the cloud, ground, or air etc, while we can also hear the lock tone and launch the missiles through the missiles can hit nothing. Please clearify and repair this problem. Thank you.:thumbup:

Playing on the most recent OpenBeta version, can confirm this weird behavior of IR missiles. they lock on to basically everything that's somehow in front of of the plane, even when its way off to the side (far left/right/up/down) of your nose.

As you can see on the screenshots above, the angle of my missile to the nearest frendly aircraft is more than 45 degrees, which i think is abnormal

I confirm the bug.

 

Yesterday I locked on a bomber, and the missile went for another bomber after launch which wasnt even on the HUD, even outside my own FOV. The FOV of the missiles currently is too big.

I had this problem in single player, too, with the latest official release of 1.5.

 

Are we all using the R-60M when this happens? Does it happen with other IR missiles?

I am sure that it also happens with other IR missiles like R13 series.

Yeah confirm just did bug is also in SP FOV of missile more than intented and will choose Friendly among al targets

Take a Mig-29 with R-60 without use EOS. Use only the passive HUD mode. Then comment.
