Depends on how the views and controller commands are setup by default for those aircraft,

 

C-101, M2000C, etc are all 3rd party modules.

 

That's what I thought as well; all of ED's modules have the TrackIR capabilities now in outside views - and they work really well that way. :thumbup:

Ah yes I see that it works only on EDs now .Not third party .How do you pan around properly?The plane just appears to rise and fall with head tracking.No movement apart from that.

Instead of panning around the plane, you are looking away from the plane in the direction you are moving your head...

I LOVE this new feature... When you do a flyby it adds a little bit of "shaky cam" that makes it look more realistic Imo. It also makes some camera shots with the cntrl f11 free cam much more interesting. I hope they just add an on/off button in settings for those who don't like it because I'd hate to see it go.

+1 for Adding an option and hotkey to toggle this TIR feature on/off.

 

While I like it sometimes, most of the time I find it annoying. It would be off by default for me.

I can see where it would be a very helpful addition to DCS. However, I find it a bit annoying and not very useful most of the time ( for me). I like to have as much situational awareness as possible when flying, especially against an adversary. It's only fair given that you really are operating with very limited visual capabilities, and you do not have the sense of physical sensation. So any extra help is a good thing. But I don't need to have to keep pushing even more buttons in flight to turn this thing on and off if needed.

I am assuming that once I get oriented to it, it may become much less of an irritant and probably will eventually become something I take for granted. But for now.....an on off option would be nice.

There is an option in the new patch that came out today to turn off TIR in External view. It's on the Misc tab..
