Can someone recommend a server to practice A-G with inexperienced friends on the A-10C? Without fearing some fighter coming to shoot us down? :music_whistling:

Thank's a lot!

To be honest, your best bet is to learn how to use the mission editor and make a few practice missions yourself, and host a server with a password to keep others out.

However, a friend and I have been having fun on the "Hollow Pointe" server. Technically, someone could hop into a fighter and shoot you down, but the majority of the time the server is empty and we can practice safely.

Seriously, though... learn the mission editor and you'll be much happier, because you can stage the exact stuff you want to practice, be it gun runs against soft targets, tanks, anti-air defenses, or even formation flying (I like to load up smoke generators on the wingtips for that). I've even made missions specifically for Combined Arms JTAC'ing. Endless fun :)

Or apply to a virtualwing and train and learn at the same time with others!

Hi Escaner. We run a server most evenings with all sorts of missions and a lot that don't have any air to air. You're welcome to jump on our Teamspeak as well and hang out with us. We also offer a lot of detailed training for the high fidelity systems. I'll send you a PM with our info if you want me to.

I would recommend the Open Conflict server. Player and AI CAP keep each other busy, and there are objectives to complete if your up too it. This is where I plan to do the majority of my A-10C practice, which should start soon. It's a decent server worth checking out.

Hey guys, thank's for the suggestions. Currently we are 4 friends flying, the problem is that most of the people still need a few hours so their HOTAS actions become second nature.

We already made a couple of traning missions, but the third time you run through them it becomes pretty boring. I have taken them through Operation Save Badger minicampaign and expected to do Operation Jackal too (both seem a good start), but with the fourth guy joining in, we are too many people. That is why I was asking about dedicated servers.

Checked the Open Conflict server yesterday and it was pretty crowded, 2-3 free slots at most, sometimes none. :(

PS: Striker, thank's for your offer but we are in Spain, 8h off...

I can run the server for you during the day here if you want to run it on a specific day. I can even join you and do some flying with you guys if you don't mind. It's up to you. Our server can handle up to 30 clients without any problem. Let me know and we can talk about it. I fly with Snakeye during the day and he's in UK.

Try flying on the BigBird Virtual server, it's hosted somewhere in Asia and is usually up 24/7. It has a number of invulnerable targets you can use to make sure you're doing your bomb runs right, as well as a very large number of trucks, AAA, SAMS of varying lethality based at a few airfields.

Also has a slow and low flying tanker just for A-10 pilots as well as faster ones for F15's and Russians.

All aircraft are available to fly but PVP is not allowed on the server, it's free flight with weapons allowed on AI only.

TFP also hosts a pretty good mission with ground targets far away enough from the AI air targets that you won't be slaughtered.
