Hawkeye60 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) Info to help others, I tried for two days to get my rift working. All checks were green but black display and no white light. Found a thread on this forum about conflicts with displaylink software. I use this for my usb lilliput monitors. After uninstalling displaylink, The rift now works! Hope they fix this soon, but who needs external monitors with the rift?:D Hope this helps. Update, see here, http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/543922 Edited July 12, 2016 by Hawkeye60 Update! SkateZilla Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 This isnt an ED Issue, it's a Display Driver Issue w/ the way Oculus Manages their displays. DerekSpeare Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Displaylink drivers don't like Oculus. It's possible you can get some traction with Startech's drivers and adapter, but I have not tested it personally to confirm it (no time or interest since VR). Bottom Line: Kill Displaylink drivers with fire, acid or anything else that eradicates your PC of them if you want to run VR. Hawkeye60 Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 "This isnt an ED Issue, it's a Display Driver Issue w/ the way Oculus Manages their displays." Thanks for clarifying. I meant oculus fixes the software not ED. "Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. Hawkeye60 Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 On a related note, does it make any difference in vr if the monitor options in dcs still point to a expanded display? ie: can I leave my options "as is" using the usb monitor settings while in vr? Hope this is clear. Thanks "Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three.
