Leader98 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Does anyone use the toe brakes? And if so, how did you correctly map them?
golani79 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Just map them in the axis section - it´s possible though that you need to invert the axis. You can check if you need to invert them by bringing up the control window ingame by pressing Ctrl+Enter - there you´ll see if the brakes are on or not. Here is an example from my settings for the 109. 1 >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
Sokol1_br Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 And dont forget that planes like Mig-15, Mi-21... don't use pedal brakes, so have option only for map "Wheel brakes". :)
agentdarnell Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I did till one of them went out within 6 months of owning them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
dburne Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I used mine for a few years before upgrading in Dec to the Crosswinds. Toe Brakes worked great, as previously mentioned just set them up in the axis section of the game's controller menu. Normally have to tick "invert" as well. SpeedStick Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Both toe brakes died within the first year for me. "Hard to imagine bigger engine. its got a beautiful face and an arse built like sputnik." - Pikey AKA The Poet, on 37 Viggen.
firmek Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) It's also possible to do map the brakes key to toe brakes: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2668158&postcount=15 Kind of useful for FC3 planes. But for planes without the toe brakes like MiG-21 and 15 I would suggest to use the joystick paddle. As for the Saitek ruder pedals they seem to be quite good. My got some punishment from flying helicopters and after a year are still ok. Though I don't have a good experience with Sitek joysticks. Sokol1_br Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 But for planes without the toe brakes like MiG-21 and 15 I would suggest to use the joystick paddle. Some people prefer make "fake" toe brakes for this planes with "differential brakes" (bicycle brake on control column). Setting the pedal brake axis, right and left, to press the key for brake both wheels. The usage will be similar to correct way - press the brake lever and move the rudder. So they press the brake on pedal and move rudder for same side for brake only this wheel.
