chief Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Hey guys I read some probs about this. No solutions though. My TGP diamond on the tad is missing. Seems to be there every third or fourth time I'm playing but usually isn't there. Makes a lot harder to use the TGP for acquiring targets.
Revelation Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Make sure your TGP is your SOI. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
Raistlen007 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 TGP Being SOI is not a requirement. the TGP needs to be pointing at some point on the ground. Got a track? 1
Yurgon Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Can you record a short track that illustrates the problem and then, when you post it here, describe what you witnessed vs. what should have happened? Including some screenshots would also be quite helpful. Then we can virtually look over your shoulder and check first hand what happened. When you post a track, be sure to note the DCS version and map it was created in. Edit: Sniped :gun_sniper:
chief Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 its easy Yurgon. BTW guys I am not new to the A10. I used it since it first released. SO its easy to test. Slew the TGP to boresight. From the TGP DU you will see the seeker head pointed about 30 miles in front of you or thereabouts. Now just take your TAD display and put it on say 20. Now with the TGP SOI slew the seeker head down and watch the distance on the DU till it displays about 10. Look at your TAD display. You SHOULD see the TGP diamond about 10 miles ahead of you. In my case it just isn't there. Every 1 out of 4 missions it will be. Its kinda random but more so its NOT there than is there.
Aginor Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I just tried it a few times and can't reproduce your issue. Everything looks normal. Please post a short track. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
chief Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 Hey Aginor. There's not much use posting a video. It just isn't there. I googled it and some others had the same issue. A few were claiming it only happened on the enemy within campaign but a campaign shouldn't do that.
Rakuzard Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 There's not much use posting a video. They all said 'track', not 'video'. Subtle, but very important difference. :) Just in case you don't know how to save a track: fly like you usually do and reproduce the issue end the mission on the debriefing screen: click 'Save track' attach the saved file here Furthermore, do have any mods activated? If so, then please deactivate all of them and try a repair. You can also try to rename the following folder: C:\Users\<your Username>\Saved Games\DCS (please don't just delete it, as it contains all of your configs). 1 - Deutsche Tutorials und DCS Gameplay: youtube.com/Rakuzard | raku.yt/discord -
Yurgon Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 BTW guys I am not new to the A10. I used it since it first released. SO its easy to test. [...] It doesn't matter how well you know the A-10C. It only matters how well you report bugs/problems. Let me give you a quick, but by no means comprehensive, run-down. What's your DCS version? Have you already disabled all mods in order to make sure this is not related to a mod? Have you tried DCS Repair already? Have you renamed your according Saved Games\DCS, Saved Games\DCS.openbeta, or Saved Games\DCS.openalpha directory already and then tried again? Which mission does it happen in? How to reproduce? Can you post a track? Note the emphasis on the term "Track", not "Video" (also see above). When you do, be sure to describe precisely what happens versus what you think should happen instead. Have you searched for the problem already? If so, are there any posts related to the problem? If so, please include links to them. In essence: Come on, man, help us help you! You give us practically nothing to work with. If the problem was that obvious, chances are you'd have gotten at least a couple responses along the lines of "known issue" -- but you didn't, so chances are this is actually limited to your installation, or others haven't reported it yet. For what it's worth, I tried the A-10C Instant Action mission "Easy - Russian Foothills - Fall" in the current 1.5.4.55952 and the TGP diamond was easily visible on the TAD under the circumstances you described, so it seems the problem is either intermittent, or possibly only appears under certain circumstances - and it actually is your job to provide us with pertinent information, not the other way around. We're all trying to help you in our spare time after all. 1
chief Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Hey guys. I made a track and went to upload it but it was 22mb. Then my next mission in the campaign the TGP diamond was visible, I'll try and get a track made. Thx though!
Chrinik Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Wouldn´t a track not show you guys any problems when the issue is with his install? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] GCI: "Control to SEAD: Enemy SAM site 190 for 30, cleared to engage" Striker: "Copy, say Altitude?" GCI: "....Deck....it´s a SAM site..." Striker: "Oh...." Fighter: "Yeah, those pesky russian build, baloon based SAMs." -Red-Lyfe Best way to troll DCS community, make an F-16A, see how dedicated the fans really are
Yurgon Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Wouldn´t a track not show you guys any problems when the issue is with his install? Correct. But a track would at least let us know a lot of the specifics and maybe point us in the right direction. Also, in case it's not limited to OP's installation, a track would provide a solid way to reproduce the problem and help the testers pin it down. In any case, a track should answer quite a few question and help narrow the whole thing down.
