Coffejunky Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 Thanks Whitch Joystick should i buy? Is the MSI RX 480 8GB VRam ok for highest settings ?
Art-J Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Depends on what screen resolution You use and what framerate is considered by You as optimum/acceptable. Neither RX 480 nor any card on the market at the moment is capable of playing DCS with highest settings, at solid 60 fps, high resolutions and high vehicles count on the screen. Also, DCS still seems to be liking NVidia cards a little bit more than AMD, although the difference is not a big as it used to be before version 1.5 of the game. However, compared to Your old card, this 480, or any new generation product, should give You a nice performance boost anyway. Keep in mind though, that the sim requires a CPU with a good single core performance as well, so gfx card is only half of the story. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Coffejunky Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 My Cpu is : Intel Core i7 3770 non-K Today i have Problems when i am first ingame and when i roll to the runway than often the picture freeze for 1-2 seconds and this happends when i join a server in the first 5 Minutes And then it goes well What Component must i change that DCS runs very Liquid and has a good Look?
joey45 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Are you on HDD or SSD? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. JG14_Smil Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Hello, I have an i7-3370 and some kind of Titan. With a single monitor I can run max settings, but I still wouldn't. To me, smooth is more important than taking screenshots. I'm running 6000x1920 in my cockpit. I'm getting 30-50 fps in my tests lately. I haven't flown in a awhile, but I remember having to move my view all around when I first enter a mission. I would get the little freezes until I looked around and seemingly loaded objects into memory, then it was smooth. Perhaps you could test that out. I wouldn't know what joystick to buy anymore, can't help with that, sorry. Good luck to you,
Coffejunky Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 @JG14 Thanks Any Joysticks for DCS here?
Goldsmack Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Joysticks is a topic that can and have taken up hundreds of posts by themselves. There are tons of online reviews for everything from the godly TM warthog to more then acceptable Logitech 3d. If this is your first time getting into flight simulators I recommend starting with something like the Logitech 3d or Thrust master T.Flight Hotas. If you want or have the extra $ you can step up to the X-55 witch I own but has its qwerks but all in all I like it. And if your serious and maybe a bit crazy :smartass: the Thrustmaster TM warthog is the "best" joystick around right now. Rudder pedals and Track IR are another accessory I would highly recommend, more so the Track IR as it is an indispensable accessory. I could never go back to using a hat switch. Coffejunky Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 It the Trustmaster TFlight Hotas good And the Logitech 3d For me its Important when the Joystick is in Middle Position than the Plane or Heli is it too
_Randolph93 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 It the Trustmaster TFlight Hotas good And the Logitech 3d For me its Important when the Joystick is in Middle Position than the Plane or Heli is it too I have used Logitech 3d before but can't recommend it because it developed big deadzones around neutral positions after few months, after disassembly I discovered it uses small cheap potentiometers, now I use saitek X-52Pro and it's a whole different level of accuracy. Although If I will have to buy a new joystick in future I would get Thrustmaster Warthog(If something better doesn't appear on the market)as it has more real "feel" and looks. .
Art-J Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 I was Logitech user as well, design was OK, but I also can't recommend their gear because of crappy pots. Saitek - used to make good entry-level sticks until MadCats took over the company, then the manufacturing quality started going down the drain. That leaves You with Thrustmaster. They're not champions of exceptional quality and durability either, but any of cheaper models should be allright for the entry into the flight sims. And if you like it, there will be more expensive options to check later. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
