Devrim Posted April 13, 2022 Author Posted April 13, 2022 Actually and honesty I have no clue how to solve this issue for Steam version. But the only solution in my mind is that you download and install the DCS from ED's website and transfer all your Steam modules to non-Steam version in your Profile page (in digitalcombatsimulator.com) Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
WombatAU Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 (edited) I am getting the same issue as Wingnutt270, everything is still Russian yet followed readme to a Tee. In my zip folder it doesn't contain any textures at all, only the description.lua. I see that in previous posts threads others have been able to download all textures with their zip file. I can go into special settings options and enable English for each jet airframe but doesn't make any difference. However your su-27 English conversion is still working perfectly. Thank you your effort is appreciated i tested the su-27 looks great! I have the ED standalone open beta version running multi threading as well as standard. Let me know if you need any more info. Thank you Edited March 16, 2023 by WombatAU needed to add more info
WombatAU Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 FIXED: From the ed forums https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2081947/ I caved and followed the advice from above for the stable-branch in the open-beta branch. By saving the folders in the location from the original readme, renaming all 3 folders to <default> and replacing the <English> in the luas for the A & G and in their folders, then selecting the <default> entry in DCS I made the cockpits work in the open-beta branch. For now it passed integrity check for multiplayer aso. Thank you
Mateo Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 @DevrimI would like to ask if it is possible to share the files that are some initial version, like on the first page screenshots. The texture included shade effects and as for me looked a bit more realistic than without shading effects. I hope it is still possible.
Dauntless 7 Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 Install instructions for: DEVRiM DCS MiG-29 Complete English Cockpit Mod v1.3c DCS Open Beta version 2.8.8.43704 (NOT STEAM VERSION!!!) Stand-alone FC3 MiG-29A/G/S only. (NOT THE FLAMMING CLIFFS ALL IN ONE PACKAGE!!!) Procedure works as of 19 September 2023 I only recently found and downloaded this mod for the MiG-29. I was having the same problems with getting it to work in the non-STEAM, Open Beta version of DCS with the stand-alone version of the FC3 MiG-29 that many were. After reading through all the comments and things people said worked for them, but did not work for me, I finally settled on one of the last fixes posted, which exchanged the word “English” for “default” in the files, but was vague and non-specific, and thus resulted in my changing things that did not need changing. Here is the step-by-step procedure for making it work if you have the same DCS and MiG-29 mod version that I do, as listed above. All of these changes are done in your “(X): / Users / (your name) / Saved Games / DCS folder”. Nothing needs to be done in main game program files folders. STEP 1: Download the DEVRiM DCS MiG-29 Complete English Cockpit Mod v1.3c Zip file and save it somewhere easy to access. (I used the desktop). Extract the contents to the same location using whatever Zip file program you like. (I used 7 Zip). STEP 2: Open your “(X): / Users / (your name) / Saved Games / DCS folder”. Look to see if you already have a “Liveries” folder at that exact location. (NOT inside another folder in that location.) If you do not simply create one there and name it “Liveries” (Capital L with no quotation marks). If you do have one, leave it there but make sure it is named the same way. STEP 3: From the DEVRiM DCS MiG-29 English Cockpit Mod v1.3c folder you just extracted, find the folders named: Cockpit_MiG-29A Cockpit_MiG-29G Cockpit_MiG-29S Inside each of those folders is a folder named “English”. Rename that folder, in each of the above listed folders, to be “default” (lower case d with no quotation marks. STEP 4: This part requires editing several lines of text in the “description.lua” found in the folders you just renamed to “default” in the Cockpit_MiG-29A and Cockpit_MiG-29G folders only!!! (NOT the Cockpit_MiG-29S folder). Take your time, pay attention to detail, and double check everything you did in each before saving and moving to the next one. Inside the “Cockpit_MiG-29A” folder you just created, Open the “default” folder you just renamed. Open the “description.lua” file using Windows Notepad. In the document you see there are several lines of text. Everywhere except the top line, where you see the word “English”, change the word to “default” (lower case d with no quotation marks.) When done, double check every line to ensure spelling and spacing are the same. Save the document and close it. REPEAT this EXACT same process for the “description.lua’ file, in the “default” folder, in the “Cockpit_MiG-29G” folder that you made. DO NOT edit the “description.lua” file in the “Cockpit_MiG-29S” folder!!! STEP 5: Run DCS in Non-Multi-thread mode first. Open the SETTINGS menu. Open the GAMEPLAY menu. Set the Avionics to “English”. Set the Units to “Imperial”. (The units may not matter but I use Imperial units always so I figure it is worth mentioning.) Open the SPECIAL menu and open the MiG-29 menu. The Customized Cockpit MiG-29A, G and S menus should all show “default”. Next, Jump in a mission in each version of the MiG-29 and verify that you see proper cockpit textures and that the labels and lights and HUD all have English text. If you see strange colored textures (in my case they were green) go back into the “description.lua” files you edited and make sure you did not miss a line or make a typo error. Next, try it out in Multi-thread if you like using multi-thread mode for DCS. It should work. And that should do it!!! This is the procedure that worked for me. Hope it works for you!
Schtuka Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Thank you a lot for your quick guide. I can finally use this mod to make my MiG-29G look closer to what it was suppose to be in reality. If I may add to your post for people that might get some issues, even with this guide, don't do the same as me: I thought that because I wanted to have the mod only for the G variant, I had to change only the G's files. That was a mistake. If you want it to work you need to do exactly every steps above instead of choosing for which variants you want it to work. It is also something you need to take into account: You can't have some variant in cyrillic and some other in english. You have to chose wether they're all in english or all in cyrillic. keks166 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 (edited) I just commented on the DCS User Files comments but here it is on dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/31oc60f7ph20diffqhz4m/MiG29-Cockpit.zip?rlkey=hjmq519ptvwns8izrn1so1ki4&st=fgspbe99&dl=0 Simply install into your DCS Saved Games\Liveries folder. Edit 29 July 2024: Updated Dropbox link. No further changes. Added comment and link below on the updated cleaner version by Krasnyie There is also this new mod by Krasnyie which I am looking forward to try out on the Fulcrum. DCS: MiG-29 Refurbished Clean English Cockpit Mod www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335443/ This new mod still works. All you have to adjust is: In Liveries folder, inside each folder (Cockpit_MiG-29A / Cockpit_MiG-29G / Cockpit_MiG-29S) rename the folder "Refurb English by Krasniye" to "default" In game make sure that under "Special Options" tab for MIG29 that "Default" is selected Install into your savedgames folder as usual Edited July 30, 2024 by keks166
SparrowLT Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Seem to have stop working with one of the latest updates... any ideas ?

Hopefully this change will be reversed.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

Urbi Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) If you follow keks166's (edited) advice from July 30, 2024, don't be surprised that the English cockpit doesn't work. The default folder is overwritten with every update. For the English version, "default" should have an additional folder named "English". Please note that the links in the descriptions of A and G replace the "default" entry with the Liveries folder of S. SparrowLT Posted May 1 Posted May 1 In my case ALL cockpits reverted to russian, Flankers and Frogs included So we need to copy them to the core folder as "English" folder? not overwrite whats in default or create folders as default? 1

Makes everything easier if anything goes wrong. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1
