swartbyron Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Uhh. This could be about a conflict between new lighting system and my obsolete mod texturing. That's why I need to update the mod as soon as possible. Your English mod is perfectly compatible with the new pit lighting, its just the RWR needs to be removed from the Alpha layer. Only other changes need are to match English lamps + telepanel up with the new pit. The fuel gauge needs updating! Ive had a bit of a play with updateing the RWR and fuel gauge. :)

Devrim Posted February 24, 2019 Author Posted February 24, 2019 Hi friends. I think I completed the warning lights but, I have very very limited sources tho. That's why I'm not sure; some lights may not represent precise meaning but I'll correct them while finishing updating. RWR back-lighting issue must be gone now. My attachment pool is full on this website (I need to remove obsolete ones). So, I uploaded it to my Google Drive. Click on: Mig-29 Cockpit Mod v1.2.1 - Temp Fix.zip to reach it. Please try it out and I'll be pleased if you give a feedback. Thanks so much. Devrim Posted March 3, 2019 Author Posted March 3, 2019 You're welcome my friend. *** An update: The mod is finished. Everything is updated and compatible with latest version of DCS World, but I can't get it work because, I can't create description.lua for this mod. This issue is the same for Bf-109K4 mod too and probably for all my cockpit mods in the future. I can't find any info about how to do that, or no one helps and shows an effective way. I'm stuck here. I hope somehow it will be solved in anyway. When figured it out, I'll release the update. ams999 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Thank you for the new cockpit! Could you give me pointers regarding the description.lua? Is there a way to extract that now? I would need it for the Spitfire... Devrim Posted March 7, 2019 Author Posted March 7, 2019 Hi ams999. No, still there's no a proper way to extract it. I'm trying to quote some lines from previous description.lua that I used for my mod and, trying to examine the EDM file via a Hex Editor (or Notepad++). Doing trial & error method, I try to create a material list for the module. Testing it in Model Viewer 2. Especially using F-keys to see textures, normal maps and roughness textures help to see and find which line(s) has/have problem. Maybe I'm lucky, this mod is OK, now I'll try to figure Bf-109 K-4 mod. Let's see... ams999 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Haha, I did the same after I found your other thread and actually got a lua now that works for my needs, so thank you and Automan for the inspiration  And thanks again for your great update here, I'm really enjoying it! sc_neo Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 So i am on the latest stable branch, and i can't for the life of me get it to work. Your other texturepacks like Su-27 and Su-33 as well as the Mi-8 setup with correct added folder structure via OvGME work fine. Just the 1.3 Mig-29 textures won't show up when acutally playing. I see them in the special tabs and can activate them for all three variants, but i still get the russian cockpit textures once i load a mission. I have tried all three install methods, 1. via OvGME and mirroring the folder structure, just as i did for all your other RED aircraft mods. 2. I placed it directly in the correct folder in my DCS isntall, where the vanilla 'default' cockpit textures are. 3. i tried your advised install method with the 'liveries' folder from your zip placed directly in ...saved games/DCS.openalpha. Again, they show up under the special tab in the DCS settings menu, but they are not being displayed in game. Not sure what else i could try. Just to be sure; i don't need to set up a proper folder structure inside ...saved games/DCS[.openalpha] folder, like ...saved games/DCS.openalpha/mods/aircaft/Mig-29 ...and then place the liveries folder there?
Devrim Posted March 10, 2019 Author Posted March 10, 2019 That's weird. I've never experienced an issue like that. If you see the "English" option in Customized Cockpit menu, that means you installed the mod right and the mod will work in game. I'll try to find where you could doing wrong. ...saved games/DCS.openalpha/mods/aircaft/Mig-29 ...and then place the liveries folder there?Never tried that but it might be a wrong structure. It must be, ".../DCS.openalpha/Liveries/Cockpit XX/English/" Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
sc_neo Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 BTW, i own the STANDALONE versions of the FC3 type of aircraft, including the Mig-29. Might this be an issue concerning the description.lua? So i did another little test to see what's working and what's not. Removed the Su-33 skin via OvGME and deleted the entire liveries folder from saved games that contained the Mig-29 skins. Redownloaded the Mig-29 skin from this thread. Fired up the game and checked that neither the Su-33 and Mig-29s had an english cockpit option under the special tab. Quit dcs, unpacked both the Su-33 and Mig-29 liveries folders to ...savedgames/DCS.openalpha/. Selected english cockpit for the Su-33 and 3 Mig-29 variants under special tab. Su-33 works, Mig-29s not. Anyway, no use chasing this right now. Better wait for more feedback from other users. So to everyone who installs this mod; could please leave feedback as to whether it works for you, which dcs version (beta or stable) and which install method you use, i.e. direct install in the dcs mainfolder, OvGME method with added proper folder structure or the advised method in ...savedgames/DCS (open.alpha/open.beta)?
ams999 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 I have them installed in \Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-29S\English\ (and ...-29A\... ...-29G\...) and they work fine for me with FC3 (although that shouldn't make a difference). "[...] because, basically, in this day and age, if you get to the merge and no one's died - it's not good for anybody." - Keith 'Okie' Nance "Nun siegt mal schön!" - Theodor Heuss, September 1958 "Nobody has any intention of building a wall." - Walter Ulbricht, June 1961 "Russia has no plans to invade either Ukraine or any other country." - Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's ambassador to the EU, January 2022
Devrim Posted March 11, 2019 Author Posted March 11, 2019 ams999; you have FC3 or separate modules of FC3? Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
ams999 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I'm using FC3, so maybe it does make a difference... The original cockpits in FC3 are in \Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-29S\default (and ...-29A\... ...-29G\...) Where are they with the stand-alone versions? "[...] because, basically, in this day and age, if you get to the merge and no one's died - it's not good for anybody." - Keith 'Okie' Nance "Nun siegt mal schön!" - Theodor Heuss, September 1958 "Nobody has any intention of building a wall." - Walter Ulbricht, June 1961 "Russia has no plans to invade either Ukraine or any other country." - Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's ambassador to the EU, January 2022
sc_neo Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 so it seems to be working just fine for FC3 owners, but not for the standalone version. But i can't see how the difference in file structure should make any difference. As i wrote above; when i put the liveries folders for the Su-33 and Mig-29s in the proper savedgames folders, the Su-33 works, the Mig-29s not. I guess the FC3 and standalone Mig-29 do differ somehow beyond the folder structure.
Devrim Posted March 11, 2019 Author Posted March 11, 2019 Non-FC3 users; could you please try to install the mod into Program Files folder? It must be, "...\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Mig-29\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-29S" or something like that. It may work but I'm not sure about Integrity Check status. Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
sc_neo Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 I can't, i don't have it installed in program files. Dcs is on my D drive. Sorry.
ams999 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 Just try and find a similar folder (Mods\aircraft\Mig-29\Liveries\Cockpit_MiG-29S or similar) in your DCS on D:\ "[...] because, basically, in this day and age, if you get to the merge and no one's died - it's not good for anybody." - Keith 'Okie' Nance "Nun siegt mal schön!" - Theodor Heuss, September 1958 "Nobody has any intention of building a wall." - Walter Ulbricht, June 1961 "Russia has no plans to invade either Ukraine or any other country." - Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's ambassador to the EU, January 2022
sc_neo Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 @ams999 thats where i have had it installed vis OvGME, and it showed up in DCS special tab, but did not work in game.
ams999 Posted March 11, 2019 Posted March 11, 2019 As a test: what happens if you put the mod (as a test only for the MiG-29S) in the saved games folder but as Cockpit_MiG-29S/default, not Cockpit_MiG-29S/English? With description.lua. Also, as a second test, what happens if you put the mod textures in a folder as a replacement for the original textures? Here, you don't need the description.lua. Just to see if it works, it will probably trip your IC so it's nothing you'd want in the long run with multiplayer.
