rtimmons Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I can crash my system by firing rockets in rapid succession from a Huey into a ground target. My PC locks up with a 60 cycle hum from the sound output and can not be recovered. I have to hold the power button to reboot it. This has happened both with offline sessions and when hosting an online session in version 1.5. slyfly system: I7 6700K 4.0Gig Proc; 32 Gig Ram; GTX-1080 Graphics card. Win 10; DCS version (just updated to latest version and still crashes)

rtimmons Posted September 24, 2016 Author Posted September 24, 2016 When I do the send to compressed folder I get a WinRAR folder called Logs but the upload tool will not let me select it. Any suggestions? I should add that I can repeat this problem and would really like to get it fixed. It just crashed and I have not restarted the game so the logs should have the info you need. slyfly
rtimmons Posted September 24, 2016 Author Posted September 24, 2016 (edited) Your instructions imply that a folder can be uploaded but the tool seems to only allow file attachment and not folders....The tool will not allow the winRAR compressed Logs folder to be opened so that any files can be selected for upload. SkateZilla Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Right Click Logs Folder, Goto "Send To" Menu, then Choose Compressed Zip, then attach the .zip File. rtimmons Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 Once again......when I follow your instructions it results in a folder being created named Logs.zip and not a file. The file upload tool only seems to accept files and not folders. I can not attach a zip file like your instructions above suggest because the upload tool will not allow the Logs.zip folder to be opened to the file level or selected for upload. Just a dead end. Mean time I will find out if this problem is peculiar to my PC or will happen on any PC in which case you should not need my log files.
rtimmons Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 I was able to get the upload tool to accept the Log.zip folder for upload by moving it to the desktop. But once the file uploads I get an error message saying it is missing a security token and the upload can not be completed. I did notice that the folder is 10.6 meg which is more than than the 9.77 meg the upload tool allows.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 25, 2016 ED Team Posted September 25, 2016 Hi I have a short guide here Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Try this first - Cleanup and Repair - Discord BIGNEWY#8703 - Youtube - Patch Status Windows 11, NVIDIA MSI RTX 3090, Intel® i9-10900K 3.70GHz, 5.30GHz Turbo, Corsair Hydro Series H150i Pro, 64GB DDR @3200, ASUS ROG Strix Z490-F Gaming, PIMAX Crystal
rtimmons Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 MY game just crashed again. It was not hard to make it crash. I was running WCs Huey Apocalypse mission. As soon as all the AI is flying and I hammer down on my rockets my computer crashes. I have simulated this 4 times in a row. Your upload instructions are not difficult to follow. But please listen to this carefully because you do not appear to hear me on this. When the compressed Logs.zip is created as C:\user\Saved Games\DCS World\Logs.zip .....the forums upload tool does not recognize it as a valid file type for uploading. I tried this in firefox and Microsoft Edge. I am running Windows 10. So I tried moving the compressed Log.zip folder to the desktop and the upload tool would then accept it for upload however at the end of the upload process I get this error message: "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." I feel like I am caught in an impossible loop here. I am not a computer illiterate person. Uploading files is not new to me. It is a sad shame that this is holding up progress on getting a solution to this problem that most likely affects all of us. Bottom Line: Helping you guys fix a problem is much more frustrating than living with a broken game. Therefore I an officially giving up on this report and will not submit anymore bug reports in the future. Evidently I am far too stupid for this process. slyfly
Art-J Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 You were writing about excessive filesize previously. I don't think too big zip file would cause such an error message, but people are experiencing various weird things with Win10. Erase everything from logs folder, run a few missions with subsequent crashes. Uncompressed logs which will appear in the folder should take only a few megs of diskspace. After zipping, the archive should be a couple of hundred kilos at most. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
